I actually really like this gel pad....it definitely dissipates the heat and it's cool enough to encourage a dog or cat to lay on it without it being too cold.......our 7-month old labrador puppy appreciates the coolness also. The only thing that just happened is that her toenail caused a 2-inch slit in the outer covering and gel has been gradually coming out. I am trying to see if using my glue gun will stop the rip and I can still use it. The other 2 sections are just fine. I still would give this 4 stars because I think the product does really do what it is supposed to do, expel heat and keep the animal cool............. ... show more

At first, it took a while for my 9 month old puppy to stand or even lay on it. He liked it once he understood it provided a cool spot for him. Worked great for the first week until my puppy chewed a corner off and the gel leaked all over the floor!

The media could not be loaded. We had this for about a week before my dog chewed an edge off and pulled out all the gel within 5 min. I loved this product and did my research to get this specific one because of its reviews and it was suppose to be chew proof or something like that but it wasn’t so it’s whatever I get it. I would say I wish it lasted longer. I had to cut off the edge to dry out the gel, and am thinking of cutting off that piece altogether. He is just going to have to deal with a smaller mat but I wouldn’t recommend this for a chewer or leaving a puppy alone with it. ... show more

Comparing this to the Chillz mat I honestly prefer this one over it. So many people rave about the Chillz mat being the best, but I had such a horrible experience with their shipping and the mat is a bit overpriced in my opinion. After that experience I found this cooling pad and bought it hoping to get it faster than the Chillz mat. The mat was here within a day and it met all my expectations. I bought the XL since it was such a small price difference between the sizes and I definitely don’t regret it, my cat is able to spread herself nicely over it so her whole body is comfortably on the pad. I tested the pressure activation myself simply by applying some pressure with my hand and it definitely cools the area where pressure is applied. The coolness comes gradually so my cat wasn’t scared off by the sudden change in temperature. It stays cool for a good while before needing to “recharge” as well. The material itself is cool to the touch as well so it’s definitely a better feeling than the carpet in my room. Overall, it’s a great product for a great price I definitely recommend it if you’re on the fence between this pad and the Chillz pad I can say that they feel very similar, I don’t think I would be able to tell the difference between them but for the size and price of this pad I definitely recommend it over the Chillz pad. ... show more
