I didn’t think it was possible to contain a cat on a leash or harness but this seems to be working. My cat is what I would consider medium to large, so I was glad I got the small size. I had to adjust it as tight as would go to keep her from backing out of it. Just enough room to get a finger between her and the straps. We’ve had it over a month now and she’s starting to get used to it and walking better. At first, she would just lay on her belly or flip on her back trying to get out of it. We live in the country and can’t let her go out anymore without it, because she was gone for days or weeks at a time. In the past year the coyotes have moved in closer and taken some of outside cats, so we didn’t want to lose her. Just be patient and your cat will probably get used to it, especially if that’s the only way they’re going to be outside. ... show more

Wish I could share a photo but she won’t even sit still long enough. I basically have to catch her and shove the harness over her head before she gets away. She’s so tiny so she easily gets away from me! By the time I get it on her head she is traumatized and doesn’t really want to play or go outside now that I’ve betrayed her trust. Even with treats! LOL However, it is a good quality harness and definitely escape-proof!!! The matching leash is just adorable. I got the pink set for my gray kitty. :) ... show more

Solidly built, a little bulky, but good quality. Specs said minimum 18" chest, but fit our 17" cat chest with a little tightening to spare. Caution one thing, definitely not inescapable. Cat can back directly away from leash anchor, with head facing anchor, and pull right out. Once he knew that he made it his goto move. Not a big deal if you're with the animal, but a major deal if you will leave him/her alone, such as on a porch or balcony, or accilmating to unfriendly cats. We love Rabbitgoo products and so does our fur ball Loki. He had a Rabbitgoo harness as a kitten that we trained him to walk on a leash with and he never complained about it or tried to get it off while on walks. We upgraded to the full size cat harness since it’s time for summer walks again and the adult version is just as well made. The material is soft and breathable and just stretchy enough it can be snug without squeezing him too tight. There are 4 points for adjustment that took some work getting right but we figured it out. Look at our handsome adventure kitty! All vest style harnesses will restrict movement at least a little bit but I prefer the big padded surface area and points of contact over the collar style harnesses just in case he takes a fall off the side of our deck he wouldn’t get hurt. He can run, jump, climb snd I have full confidence this harness would catch him safely if he fell. A side note to people seeing negative reviews that thier cat escaped; there is no cat harness that is “escape proof” no matter what the manufacturers claim, cats only assume thier physical state to manipulate thier human servants, if and when they choose, they can return to their natural form which is a liquid, and you can’t harness liquid. Wether you choose this harness or another brand ALWAYS adventure or leisure with an eye on your little master. Our little fluff ball has never tried to escape his harness while sitting outside or going on a walk but we put him inside so he could go eat and cool off from the heat and at some point in that 30 minutes the little demon slipped out of it. This harness fits so well and the points that it’s strapped on are cleverly designed that this feat was likely not easy. If he was anywhere within eye sight I’m 100% positive it would have grabbed my attention. So please don’t leave your little friend out in the yard on a leash without supervision. If they want the harness off badly enough they’ll get out of it no matter what brand says they can’t escape. ... show more

It takes a little adjusting when you first put it on but my cat relaxed pretty quickly and is very comfortable in it. I purchase this harness so that my cat could come out on my apartment balcony with me (not to take on a walk) and it is exactly what I needed!

    • Great harness for a chubby dachshund

This is a beautiful harness but it didn't fit my cat. She's an adult cat and not small, but she was out of the harness with one rolling houdini move. This harness is the perfect size for my brother's chubby dachshund.

To my surprise, this fit our cat really well for a long car trip and he never seemed to complain or have restricted movement. He doesn't care much for the leash part, but all in all, the harness does the job.

Not unexpected, but initially Joy did not like having something slipped over her head, but it was relatively easy to put on. After just a couple of weeks of "practice" she definitely made the connection that the harness and leash meant an opportunity to go outdoors. She sits still and the harness goes on very easily. I do loosen the neck portion to put it on and tighten it up as much as possible after putting it over her head. The parts that connect behind the legs can be adjusted as needed before putting it on. I bought the extra small and was concerned that it might be too small as my cat's neck and chest measurements were at the upper end of the size recommendations. It is not too small at all. In fact, I have to play close attention to Miss Joy, because either this harness is easy to wiggle out of or she is quite a Houdini, an escape artist extraordinaire. While it seems to be a comfortable harness, I really wish she was not able to escape, especially while camping. I might have to look for something else. ... show more
