Great crimper for the money worked perfect for me. Would have been better if they had a locator but as long as you pay attention to make sure thebpin is in proper location before crimping they worked great

    • Finally The Right Tool
I have finally found the right tool for the job. Needed the tool to crimp the pins on the common waterproof connectors that are sold on Amazon. Crimping 22 gauge to 14 gauge Marine wire. I tried the ratcheting crimpers and they didn't work very well, you really didn't have much control over pressure. Trashed a lot of connecting pins. The fit of the connectors was not very good either, a lot of times it would be stuck in the crimper. I tried some other styles of crimpers as well without much luck. I decided to give these a try. They give the most consistent crimp of any crimpers that I have tried so far. They require two steps to crimp connector pins. The first step is to crimp the uninsulated part of The Wire. The second step is to crimp insulated part of The Wire. It makes very consistent crimps. Instead of millimeters that are marked on most crimpers, this crimper is marked with wire gauges, it makes things much easier to know that you are in the correct slot for the correct size wire . I am very happy with this tool,they have given good consistent crimps. I'm happy to finally have found the tool that works for my purpose. ... show more

    • Seems very sturdy
It feels like a solid tool. I like how the wire crimps and the boot crimps are done with completely different slots in die. The expensive GM tool does both crimps at once but I don't think you have as much control; you just hope for the best. After making some crimps, it takes some getting used to. It's not a fast process and sometimes it feels like you need three hands. But once you get the wire in place and figure out which crimping die to use, you squeeze once and done. No trouble crimping the boots at all. Once the wire is crimped and secure, crimping the boot is just a matter of not squeezing too hard as to deform or damage the rubber. I did 8 connections with 100% success. I also tinned the ends of the wires before crimping in order to keep the strands together and to protect the copper from any future corrosion. ... show more

I bought these for my son in law to use at work (He is a licensed electrician). He said they worked just as well as the more expensive brands he buys for work. They are sturdy, and well built. He said he would defiantly recommend them to anyone needing a crimping tool.
