the lifting bar itself is not the reason for this rating of 1star...I bought this item because the video and many pictures show that the 'sliders' have wheels...here are no wheels...there are no sliders...the 4 items that look like 'sliders' to be put in the 4 corners of a washing machine, etc, are not sliders...they are only 'lift assist' items for the bar...not pleased with this purchase...

I was able to lift the corner of a few heavy pieces of furniture with it, but it was a little trickier with the pieces that had small narrow legs. Other than that, it worked great, and as described, and was helpful.

Not as sturdy as I expected but I was still able to lift the corner of my refrigerator a short distance, though it's a bit uncomfortable. I can see why they included the gloves. It would help if the handle was a bit larger for easier gripping ... and maybe some padding. Also, the images look like the rods are solid metal but they are not; they are hollow as would be expected. I also did not receive the non-slip pad to add to the riser portion, but it still worked without it. The risers are definitely needed for most things. I was also unable to use it for lifting my queen bed because there was no way to lift it enough to get the tool underneath a leg. But maybe it's just that I don't quite know how to use it properly.

I have a portable 4x8 pen called a tractor for my chickens, and got this lifter to help lift its heavy frame up when I am engaging the wheels in the side slots. It works fairly well for this application, and would be even better probably if the handle met the lifting plate at a more severe angle. I'm deducting a star because the handle part are not reliably staying together -- one slides into the other and is supposed to lock when a pin pops through a hole, but after repeated tries, it won't pop and lock. I'm thinking maybe I can epoxy the parts together so the perform reliably. This lifter is made of a nice thick metal. It breaks down into two pieces for easy storage. The flat end is thick enough to support weight and thin enough to position it under what you are trying to lift. The wheels do a good job of supporting the weight while making it easy to move what you are lifting. The package comes with four blocks to incrementally increase the height of the lever giving you leverage on items higher off the ground, like the edge of a couch, for example. This is a great solution that won't take up much space when you are not using it. The leverage it produces without much work makes it easy for anyone to use. Love it!

I have a similar device and it works great, on our couches. However, it won’t reach our entertainment center. This worked amazingly well. The gloves were a good fit for medium hands and would fit larger hands too. Highly recommend!
