  • Updated: Exceptional set of PXG clubs and bag that does not break the bank
Size: Regular Style Name: 14 Club + Bag
UPDATE: I have now returned from a golf trip down south and can confirm most of my opinions from my initial review. A few differences though that I want to highlight: Driver: much better than expected. I hardly sliced or hooked a shot. For me that is way better than my average. I do love this driver. Perhaps the 12° loft suits me well. Hybrid: when I connected to the ball (and not ground out), it flew beautifully. Sound was spot on. 0211 Irons: I struggled a bit more than I expected here. I think it is me though, since I had not played since October last year. When I did connect well, I hit the ball further than I thought I would. In fact this happened quite often. I overshot the green a number of times, or if on the fairway, hit longer than I usually had done. A bit adjustment for me but that is a good thing. Putter: very pleasantly surprised here. The V-42 putter seems to have a little elasticity to the face (not sure, but felt that way). I felt my putts were more consistent and I was more confident with it. Golf bag: the bag could use more pockets, especially a mesh pockets for gloves. Otherwise still good. After trialing these a bunch at driving ranges, and getting a number of rounds under my belt, I continue to be a big fan of this whole set. And I am only getting started this season. Looking forward to the rest of this year! Previous review: I am so pleased with this set so far. PXG has really put some thought into the club specifics and entire package. It is comprised around 0211 XCOR2 iron set which I believe were released in 2022. Not their top of the line but certainly not entry either. A great set that will last for many years for advancing beginner to mid-level players, and even beyond. My friend, who is a very low handicap golfer, has 2 sets of these. Although not inexpensive, it is priced really well for the quality of this product. The set came well packaged with every club's head protected. Of note is that I think this set only comes in a right handed version. Although PXG can provide multiple variations of virtually every club (shaft type, grip, loft angle etc), they have made a fixed selection for this group. I got the full 14 clubs (Right, Regular stiffness & Graphite shafts) and golf bag: 12° driver, 15° 3 wood, 19° 3 hybrid, 4-9 irons, W, G, S, & L wedges, and a putter. My review is based on a trip to an indoor driving range as it is still winter weather here. I will update soon after a trip south. Driver, Fairway & Hybrid clubs: These 3 clubs come with a well-padded waterproof club cover. Interestingly, each cover has an embedded magnet so you can attach it to metal on the golf cart while playing the club. Nice feature as I typically find mine in with the melted ice so they get wet. Driver: I normally use a 10.5° driver but have to admit I wanted a bit more loft, so getting a 12° is perfect for me. I found that it provided me very good distance. No improvement in my accuracy though. The sweet spot may be a touch smaller than I am used to but did not seem to affect me. The sound of the hit was very reassuring. The club comes with the tool to allow some small loft adjustment on the club. Fairway 3 wood: I did not spend too much time with the 3 wood, however it handled well and gave me generally straight shots. Hybrid: The hybrid has become one of my favorites, and this one has not disappointed me. Tough to tell from the driving range and not in the rough, but the swing was solid, and the contact seemed to come easily. Irons: > These irons are very sleek looking by themselves - polished on the rim and the backside has a satin finish - very smart looking if you ask me. The 4-9 lofts range from 19° to 37°. > The clubs are not too heavy as PXG has imported some of the design element from their high end series where there is a polymer filled cavity in the club heads. This is to make the club more forgiving and that is what I found hitting a variety of the irons. On some shots I hit low on the club yet I still made a pretty good shot. That is a real plus. Wedges: The wedges are built the same as the irons above. The fact that they come with 4 makes your options up close or in difficult terrain a bit better. However choosing which one becomes harder. The 4 wedge lofts range from 42° - 60°. Putter: This putter has a very nice balanced feel with gentle swings. I look forward to trying it out on a real green. The grip is thick and terrific! So nice and comfortable. Golf Bag: The bag is a nice lightweight stand bag with a 4 way divider. Mine came with not only a backpack sling but also a simpler single shoulder strap. Both are well-padded. The carbon struts are solid and I like how there is a swivel at the bottom of the bag so that the bottom stays on the ground when the bag tips forward onto the stand legs. There are lots of pockets; typical big ones, small ones, insulated one for a drink, felt lined one for phone, umbrella sleeve, and a glove pocket. Handle at top makes it easy to haul around. If I had any negative, it was simply that once all clubs were in, it was a bit of a tight fit at the bottom. Overall, I doubt this set can disappoint the large majority of golfers. I can't wait to try it out on the course and report back. ... show more

  • Far & away the best clubs per dollar
Size: Regular Style Name: 10 Club
I already owned a set of PXG 0211 irons in custom +1 lengths since I am 6' 4" tall but have a short arm ratio and standard-length clubs just don't work for me. I am also an absolutely terrible golfer, but I am really trying to take it more seriously as of late so, I purchased my set of PXG clubs directly from PXG about 3 months ago and they are excellent. My clubs motivated me so much that I ended up building an enclosed outdoor golf cage so I can practice pretty much daily. Now, on to the review of the PXG clubs I am actually reviewing. I got this set for my son who is about 6' 1" but unlike me, he has Gumby arms so standard-length clubs fit him very well. He was previously using a hand-me-down set of very inexpensive, off-the-shelf clubs that I used to use (with horrible results). The only difference between his PXG irons and mine, besides the length, is that his have graphite shafts. When I ordered my set, I went back and forth between steel and graphite but ultimately chose steel and honestly, they feel quite similar when I swing both. Anyway, the point is, my household now has two sets of these 0211 clubs (irons only, my son cannot yet hit the driver or hybrids & I didn't have a solid driver or hybrids, so I took those from this set) and the quality is amazing, the clubs are quite forgiving and both sets, despite different shafts, feel amazing. The "forgiving" part of that is huge for both my son and I because, simply put, we are NOT good so we need every advantage we can get. I will also point out that PXG de-lofts this set of clubs, which is important to understand since you WILL hit each club slightly further than you are used to and there may be a bit of adjustment on your part to dial your distances back in. Although I am lousy at golf, I am old, and I know quality when I see it. I also know how much 'larger' companies charge for clubs and I am saying straight up, these 0211 clubs are the best deal around, so good for most people that there would likely never be a need to 'upgrade' to their 0311 clubs. Seriously though, research these clubs, watch videos online about these clubs like I did before I bought my set. You really won't find anyone talking bad about them, to the contrary, most seem to have the same thoughts that I have, PGX has made such an awesome 'entry level' set that for most people, it makes no sense to get their higher-level sets. ... show more

  • Exceptional.

Life long golfer here. I have had all the name brands over the years. I have collected quite a few sets over the years. I love these PXG's. My friend has the high end forged PXG's and PXG woods, which he loves and has been beating the daylights out of me with. The technology in these irons (I believe they came out in 2022) is impressive. They are gorgeous too. The bag is very nice. Really impressed with it, for a stand bag. Excellent quality there as well. In my experience, everything PXG makes is high quality. I haven't been to the course yet, due to weather, but I have been swinging them in the yard. The swing weight is perfect for me. I like a little higher swing weight to better feel the club head during the swing and the have graphite shafts, which I have come to love on irons. The putter has me really excited too. So easy to put a good stroke on it. It came with a 12 degree driver, which is a lot more loft than I typically use for a driver (be great for a novice). It is adjustable, so I could back it down to 10.5. I will wait until I actually hit the course before doing that. I love that it includes a 3 hybrid at 19 degrees loft. The head cover for it said 22 degrees, which was weird. If you haven't tried hybrids, you might want to give them a shot. I got a 3 and 4 hybrid last year and liked them so much I ended up getting a full set, 2-PW in hybrids, and that is what I gamed most of the year. When I have a few rounds under my belt with these PXG XCOR2 irons and woods I will report back. ... show more
