The image of shoe does not high light the true gold trim that well. That said, the gold trim is a perfect, not over the top. Very comfortable, I wore them a full day, no discomfort. Love them - the only problem is the "tongue" isn't a tongue. It is parts of the top of the shoe and doesn't move. I bought these because I have fibromyalgia and neuropathy and needed some good support - my issue - my feet swell. The tongue being attached wont allow me to "let out" the laces as my feet swell during the day. These are THE MOST COMFORTABLE shoes I've ever worn. I wore them all day yesterday doing laundry and usually by the end my legs hurt and so do my feet. Not with these. Absolutely fabulous!!!! They do slide on though so if you have a wide foot like me it'll be a little of a struggle getting them on but so worth it. Look just as they're pictured and sizing is perfect. Love how the shoes look. However, the tongue area of the shoe comes up to close to the base of the leg when walking a distance it causes pain in the ankle. Very disappointed
