First and foremost I always have loved ProTec products. I needed to travel to Atlanta and needed a case to carry my alto and soprano because I would be crazy to check any instruments on the plane. This came through great!! I would say it is a bit heavy for me being a female but it’s not unbearably heavy. I rest more easy knowing my saxes are protected so I understand the weight. Wheels are great and has plenty of storage space for my sax stand and accessories. One thing I love is perfect space for neck pieces. My previous case I had to store them in a separate pocket because otherwise they would go flying around the case. Overall I give this case a 9/10. This is the 3rd case of this type I’ve owned in my professional music career. My first was a Selmer brand. It was wood and heavy but served me well for 40 years of daily use. I bought this case to replace it because it was the only case that could hold multiple instruments in it. It’s much lighter and protects the instruments well. I can even fit an extra flute case or piccolo case in the large outside pocket. You could probably fit a slim style oboe case in the pocket. The down side is the zippers and the fabric covering. The first thing to go was the internal zippers on the small accessory case and the clarinet case within 6 months. I lived with that because the case cover keeps those closed when closed. The next thing to go was the material covering on the outside of the case especially on the corners. Then one of the two zippers broke in about a year. Luckily it was at the end of the track and the other zipper was able to keep the case closed. Then it finally happened, the other zipper broke and ruined the plastic teeth completely. It could not be repaired. So now I bought another one of these cases only because it’s the only one on the market. To add insult to injury, it took over 2 weeks to get this one from Amazon. Needless to say I had to carry multiple cases to a few gigs over that period. ... show more

It is a great case in my opinion. I can fit my Yani alto, artley flute, and buffet clarinet nice and snugly. It came with a pouch like case for the neck and mouthpiece, which works pretty good, but it dose take up just about all the room in the extra compartment. I have to put my reeds and stuff in the outside pocket, which is quite large. Weight wise it feel just about the same as my protec max alto case, maybe slightly heavier. It opens up flat, the cover will not stop halfway like other cases, so it hits the guys chair next to me when I set it up. The shoulder strap clips are on either side of the front opening so when you open it it kinda in the way. It serves it purpose, when you need multiple instruments. If I don't I use my protec max single case, very light weight and streamline. If I get on a plane, I use my guard leather gig bag. Overall I like it. ... show more

I needed a new case for my alto. Since I double on clarinet, this case seemed to be a no-brainer. It's a fine case in the Protec tradition - but. Instead of having the usual niche for the saxophone's neck and mouthpiece, you're given a little foam bag to put them in, and there's really no place in the case to put it. Case holds my straight soprano and alto. Heavier than I expected, but with all the handles, wheels, etc. not hard to handle. Now I can throw my tenor over my back, and drag this case with my tablet, allowing me one trip from the car to the gig. Well worth the money.
