I want to start this review off by saying the throttle actually is very functional and feels very nice. I measured, and it has a 2" stroke length, so if your carb demands more pull than that, look elsewhere. It clamps up to my 7/8" bars very solidly, and the twist-action is really smooth on account of there being an actual bearing for the roller guide. One of the smoothest throttles I've used, especially when compared to all the 1980's junk I'm working on. The grips that come with it are also pretty decent. The inside feels like a soft plastic that slips tightly over the throttle and the other end of the bar, while the outside is a semi-firm rubber that seems to do an okay job of being grippy. The throttle grip looks a bit short though, maybe 1/8" of a gap between it and the body of the throttle housing, but that could just be from how tightly it goes over the throttle tube. Now onto the good stuff. As you can see from the pictures, your first impression will be that it looks nice overall but the acrylic window is strangely dirty and scratched? Not that I care much about the see-through part, but it looks rough when you pull it out of the plastic. As I was taking apart the body to string the cable through to the throttle tube, I removed the cover plate and noticed that it has a totally mangled edge. I say this because I've done it before myself, but it looks like the edges were filed down to fit the housing and then they used a black sharpy to make the exposed metal look closer to black, although with sharpy being how it is, it ends up looking like a dark blue instead. This alone is the reason for my rating. And that's a shame because not only is this a smooth, and functional twist throttle, but it doesn't even look that bad from the outside. The fact that it comes with the throttle, the grips, AND a cable for this price is quite the deal, but it makes me wonder why the cover plate is so ragged. Oh, and last thing to take into account is that the throttle tube is quite solid on the bar but is pretty wiggly without that internal support. Not only that, but the tube has a large amount of back and forth play which I've found to be common on cheaper twist throttles, but this issue completely goes away when you install the twist throttle deep enough onto the handlebar for the ends of it to keep the throttle tube basically captive from the inside. Doing that won't leave it any room to move back and forth and it'll stay lined up well with the bar.

I ordered this throttle grip set because it looked like a solid upgrade for my dirt bike, and the price was right. The grips themselves seem well-made sturdy rubber, decent texture, and the control cable feels durable. The packaging was clean, and everything arrived as described. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to actually install or use the set. The sizing or compatibility didn’t work out for my bike, even though it’s supposed to fit standard 7/8" handlebars. I tried a few adjustments, but it just wasn’t a match for my setup. That said, if it does fit your bike, I think it could be a great value. Just make sure to double-check compatibility before ordering. I’m giving it 3 stars because the product itself seems fine I just couldn’t use it.

These motorcycle throttle grips look great and feel solid, giving me better control while riding. Installation was straightforward, and they fit perfectly. The only downside is they’re a bit firmer than I expected, so they’re not quite as comfortable on longer rides. Overall, still a good upgrade.

These handle grips were very nice. They were easy to install and allow my hands to grip my handlebars good. The throttle cable was great and actually surprised me because I didn’t even realize I needed a new cable. They fit well on the bar and they were comfortable to ride with. I didn’t have any of that annoying slop that sometimes happens when grips are too big. They are perfect for me and work great.

Truth be told this is probably the 3rd set I’ve gotten. First in the grey color but they look great. These sets are a great budget upgrade from stock setups. The throttle is decent and works but if you’re looking for a “tight” no slop feel, these aren’t for you. It’s plastic and has some play. With that said though, it’s still a nice upgrade and the grips are definitely nice. Good quality, good fit, good value.
