Folded this umbrella is about half the length, maybe a bit shorter, than a non-folding umbrella but that is AOK with me. This umbrella feels really really solid and will fit nicely in my carry on and day backpack. Size is perfect for 2 people to get out of the rain.

I liked everything about this umbrella until the wind blew it off my golf cart and it hit the ground. It was portable, had a large canopy and it was easy to open and also had a sturdy feel to it. While playing golf in light rain, a wind gust lifted it off my golf cart. When the umbrella hit the ground one of the spines snapped at the plastic hinge and the damage was unrepairable.
