What the heck? Is Propper is having some real Q.C. problems. Propper usually sells pretty good stuff, but every once in a while you get a real turkey with their label on it. On these trousers, one pocket goes much deeper than the other, and the zipper is so short that I had to double check to make sure I didn't order womens pants. I went up a size in the waist and they are still almost too tight. In addition to that they fit weird; kinda like hip huggers or something. Very strange cut. Bizarre, in fact, for tactical pants. They shrank after a wash and dry. I recommend the Propper lightweight tactical pants which are superior to these in every way. I've been wearing those for years with no complaints. That is if the Q.C. on them hasn't gone up in smoke for those too.

I am being quite generous by giving these a 3 star rating. If you want better pants, go with the Propper Lightweight tactical pants, not these uniform tactical pants. I have worn the Propper lightweight tactical pants for many years, and the quality has improved, but the stock ran out so I bought these uniform pants. The differences are as follows: -The cargo pockets suck. It's a cargo pocket inside a cargo pocket, it's just stupid. -The fly zipper is way too small, I have to unbuckle my pants, undo the button and then unzip. Again, stupid. -The button is not a snap like their better made LW pants, and I hate buttons. -There's no metal loop, I liked having that. -There's no inside coin pocket, it's one of the best defining features of their LW pants. -There's no inside rear pocket. -The belt loops are thin and very weak, not wide like their LW pant. -The fabric is lighter, that could be a plus or a minus depending on what you like. -The color is a little richer, again that could be a bonus or detraction. Overall, it's a good pant for the price, and if you prefer BDU uniform pants. I guess I am just spoiled by their lightweight pants because they are far superior in every way.

The button was fastened when I received the pants. I had to enlarge the button hole in order to try them on. Can't imagine how the buttons were fastened because the hole was smaller than the button. This is shoddy workmanship and while I've decided to keep the two pair I purchased, I will be somewhat hesitant to buy anything else from Propper. On the plus side, there is good stretchability in the waistband. Ripstop nylon should provide durability and quick drying when I'm caught in the rain while hiking.

I bought two pairs of these pants a few years back. They are worn on camping trips and regular meetings with the Scouts. After many rough outings they are beat up and stained but they are still going strong. That said, they are no longer good for special ceremonies. So when an Eagle Scout Court of Honor was scheduled I decided to check and see if I could but a new pair. I was really happy to see that the same pants were available from the same seller. That's what made it so disappointing to see the build quality of the new pair. Major corners cut. The sturdy metal zipper has been replaced by a flimsy plastic one. The original pants have a nice metal snap as a fastener on the outside and a thick plastic button as an internal fastener. This has been replaced by a single fastening point...a plastic button on the outside. The material seems the same, weight wise, which is why I didn't give these pants two stars. They are ok for the price but no longer great.

I absolutely love these pants. Probably the best pants I've ever worn. The extra pocket over the left cargo pocket is awesome for my cigs. I love the open pockets behind the velcro close cargo pockets. Very convenient access for my phone or gloves. I love that unlike other military pants that you can order these by waist and inseam size. I was a little worried about the waste at first because they seemed too small, but the elastic expanded easily and they were very comfortable. Nice also because the elastic keeps them from falling down after you unfasten the fly. Love the zipper and velcro instead of buttons. Kind of a short fly but hasn't proved to be a problem. I don't have a single complaint. Finally, some military style pants with deep pockets all the way around. The back pockets are even deep enough for my long biker wallet. And nice thick belt loops. And I love the OD Green like the old Army uniforms when you actually had to put some work into your uniform and you looked dress right dress when you did.
