Description

The 'original' progressive rate fork springs soak up the small road bumps, yet are firm enough to absorb the molar-rattling ones. Spring rates have been chosen to reduce front end "dive" during braking, yet still provide excellent ride comfort. Better yet, We warranty our fork springs for life progressive rate fork springs have several advantages over straight rate springs. A progressive rate spring has the advantage of a rising rate resistance to compression. The benefit of this is that the spring can be soft enough at the start of the travel to offer a "plush" ride, yet be firm enough at the end of the travel to soak up the Big bumps. Some applications are offered in heavy duty and standard versions.

  • Great replacement for Sportster 2013 Iron 883!
Ok, so I'll admit I'm not your standard sportster owner (meaning I weigh in at 220, not 160). Now, that out of the way, the stock fork springs are still garbage, had a few people try it out over the last year and they all had same oppinion, one of them weighing in at 147 pounds. SO, started looking at reviews. Amazon lists this as not compatible, well, progressive website says otherwise. Fit mine just fine, install wasn't terrible. Get yourself a manual or youtube. Having said that, there are four or five tools I recommend having if nothing else if you do a sporster: T45 for triple tree clab 1/4 hex head socket for the handlebar clamp Motion Pro Fork Oil Level Gauge <-- worth it's weight in gold, no guessing how much to put in, just follow instructions and it gets the right amount for you, so no cup to measure what comes out of forks. Motion Pro Fork Cap Nut Socket for HD - 39mm Forks <-fits pretty well, I put a strip of electrical tape on my fork caps and no marring. MV8000 Automotive Tune-up and Brake Bleeding Kit <-- get this for sure, you can leave your bike up on the jack, and not lower it to get that fluid out, you'll fill the resevoir up probably 3 times but it's so much eaiser than trying to manually pump the forks. You probably already have: Breaker Bar Digital Torque Adapter (mine came from harbor freight and works great) jack You'll be set with those, and it will be a one person job and not sketchy for doing the work. All in all, if the stock fork springs were a 4/10 these are a 8.5/10 for ride quality. It's not a fatbob etc, but the right setup like with my rear shocks swapped to streetglide air shocks, it's real close and super comfy. You won't be disappointed with these, get them if your are a bigger rider! Also I'm using 10wt oil (Maxima, however I do prefer amsoil shock therapy) and with a passenger still getting a fantastic ride. ... show more

  • Must have
Installed these on my 08 nightster and it is night and day. I should have bought these years ago. Increases handling, stability and ride quality. I paired them with air-ride shocks from a bagger, I am very pleased.

  • Definite ride improvement
For my daughters 20156 Harley XG500 trainer bike. These springs are a noticeable improvement over factory. You have an opportunity to raise or lower the ride height depending where you cut the pic pipe it comes with. I will say the ride is very much better, very worth while especially if it's time for fork seals anyway. I used a dextron ATF oil, added the same amount that came out. ... show more

  • nice springs
Nice easy to install major upgrade for 1200 custom. After test ride I was so pleased I ordered the rear. Handles much better no nose dive on braking or excess rise on hard acceleration. Works for heavy rider. Worth the money

  • Stock shocks on my XL883L always bottomed out on the ...
Stock shocks on my XL883L always bottomed out on the driveway curb or minor pot holes. I went to a heavier fork oil, but they still weren't tough enough. The heavy duty Progressive Suspension fork springs were the answer !!! No mor bottoming out problems anywhere. And the ride is really responsive. Wish I'd have done this a long time ago. ... show more

  • Perfect “heavyweight” Springs for your Narrow Glide
Perfect for my Dyna. If you too are a “heavyweight”, these are the bees knees. Pop the stock ones out, cut the spacers according to the supplied paperwork, and off you go! Coupled with my “heavy duty” rear shocks from progressive, the bike is a beast.

  • Very good springs.
The kit was sent with the metric bike instructions. The Progressive help desk is very good. The H-D instructions are available online.

  • Well worth the money
Night and day difference between stock and these. Combined these with the 430 progressive shocks in the rear. Don’t hesitate, do it, you’ll love the ride. Oh, I weigh 280 and put them on a 2012 XL 1200 custom.
