This is my second protec flute case of this style. My first one lasted nearly 4 years, and being a concert Flautist in several concert bands/ensembles, my last protec case took a beating. I finally had to replace it, and am happy it was still available. The style is slightly different from my old case, mainly, instead of a full Velcro closure, there are 2 smaller pieces of Velcro, I like this change. The closure is snug and the Velcro is sturdy. The second difference is the sheet music pocket. There are a few zippered pockets inside the sheet music pocket, as well as places for pencils, clothes pins (most of you know clothes pins are a cheap staple for holding sheet music secure when performing outside venues, etc...). I am able to carry my flute as well as 2 piccolos in this case. 2 piccolos, you might ask, 2 Piccolo, why?, well, I have one for indoor venues, and one for outside venues: one is mostly metal, the other is made of wood. There is also a space for a tuner, which is very handy. Several of my flute buddies have started using this case after seeing this case in person. The only issue I had/have with this case is weight. It does get heavy with the more items added in it, duhhhhh...being in several different concert bands and ensembles, I have several different music folders that I have to carry, those add weight to this case. It can get heavy--just a word of caution. In my opinion, this is only a minor problem that I know I can deal with. I don't have to juggle around several different hard flute/Piccolo cases along with my music folders, I just place everything in this case and I don't have to worry whether or not I "got everything". As stated earlier, my first protec case lasted nearly 4 years; some may think that is not very long, but when you have rehearsals everyday of the week, including gigs on the weekends, nearly 4 years is a long time in the life of an instrument case. This case protects my instruments beautifully, my case has been dropped, rained on, stepped on, and it protected my very expensive instruments, tuners, and everything else I have to carry. The price for this case is small considering how hard I am on instrument cases. I honestly wish that there was another space in this case for a second (or spare flute, as I usually have a spare flute with me on any stage I perform on; let's face it, instruments can break or get damaged, even while performing--I was always taught it's better to have a spare available rather than have an instrument malfunction on stage). I can honestly say, when this new case wears out like my last one did, I will repurchase again, if this case is still available. I do wish there were more color choice options--if you don't have a name badge or if you don't use the included detachable name badge, several of these cases sitting side by side can be confusing--if more color options were available, other than black, this little hassle could be avoided, or, just use the detachable name badge. My fellow Flautists, I happily give this case my highest recommendation. It's so convienent, keeps everything protected and in place, and literally, "takes a licking and keeps on ticking", so to speak. I will be posting pics very soon. ... show more

This case is super sturdy for my flute and piccolo. It has to plenty of room for all of my books and folders in the back pocket. There is also organization in the same spot for pencils and zippers to hold smaller things. Inside the case there is also room for both cleaning rods and a space for my tuner. All of the straps and handle is very comfortable with tons of padding. The straps on the back easily go into its own compartment easily when they aren’t needed. Overall I think the case will be super sturdy for many years to come and is money well spent. ... show more

I have been using this case for a few months now and am very pleased! It fits both my flute and piccolo very well and I have no concerns with it bending keys. For reference on the piccolo, I have a Gemeinhardt 4W (grenadilla) and the straight head joint is a little loose fitting in the case but the light pressure of the foam keeps it snug enough it doesn't move. Also, my flute has the extended B foot and some extra trills keys and everything fits well. I am able to fit a tuner and cleaning rods in the main compartment as well. Also - I read a review that an orchestra folder wouldn't fit. Mine does!! In the zippered portion on the back side of the case, I am able to put my folder with full-size music, a collapsible flute stand, pencils and cloths with room to spare. I was nervous to bite the bullet because it seemed like a lot of money for a case, but it looks very professional and was well worth the money. I am able to put everything I need in it and throw it on like a backpack and have my hands free to do other things, which is great. ... show more

I ordered this for my daughter who has a Yamaha flute and piccolo and they both fit beautifully with plenty of room for both cleaning rods and cloths. Has plenty of room for her three music books and folder and tuner, stationery and instrument stands. Great product being able to carry it all comfortably in one bag and having multiple options of how you can carry it as a back pack or shoulder strap or carrying it as a case. I recently started playing both the flute and piccolo, and I was tired of lugging around two cases, so I purchased this case, and it works well. The backpack straps work great when I want to use them, and all the pockets make it easy for me to stash away my stuff. My flute teacher gives me several books to practice from, and this case gave me a neat place to put them all without losing them. The only thing I have against this case is that the piccolo headjoint place is assumed to be a metal picc headjoint, and it is difficult to fit my Gemeinhardt 4P headjoint into it. Bought this for the boyfriend for Christmas. He loves it and other musicians in his two ensembles have commented on how nice the case it is. He carries one of his flutes and a piccolo, all of his sheet music and some sort of stand. The straps allow you to carry it as a backpack or typical work bag.
