I got fitted at a specialty shop in town and this is the bra I liked best. They closed, and I found it available on Amazon and have been wearing ever since, this has been 10+ years now. I am an H cup and it is hard to find a supportive bra in that size, but this is THE one! It comes in multiple colors and the manufacturer releases fun patterns in smaller runs every now-and-then. If you keep tabs on the product page, you'll sometimes see some colors/style go on sale for $50 off. I'll keep one in my cart to get notifications when the price drops! I cannot say enough good things about this bra. They usually last me about 3 years, when I have 3-4 that I rotate throughout the week. Typically, a wire breaks at the 3 or 4 year mark. But for an H cup I feel that it is a good lifespan for the price. This fit has also significantly reduced the shoulder pain I was experiencing. ... show more

This is my favourite bra for comfort and shape (have had one in a different colour for five months). It's a beautiful, flattering bra. The seaming on PrimaDonna 'Madison' creates a lovely shape without requiring any padding/molding/etc. though it does obviously have the underwire. Based on the photo, it seems like it could look a bit 'overkill' or 'industrial' in terms of fabric coverage of the breast, but it's actually very pretty on. The beige 'caffé latté' colour is practical and cute; and details in the 'checkered' and lace components are more visible than in the black version, for example. This bra lifts, holds in side and underarm tissue, and contains the shape at the top when it is properly sized. Due to 'relocation', your midsection and back appears slimmer. The tissue does go somewhere; I noticed initially that I felt my breasts were projecting forward more than in other bras (though based on others' notes that is even more the case with the 'Deauville' model). Overall effect? - You look slimmer head-on; a nice confidence boost! It's good also for women with soft breast tissue, because of how the seaming creates a nice, comfortable shape - it does a good job of lifting. The structure transfers the weight to the band, so in my case there is little pressure on the shoulder from the wider shoulder strap (but the 'weight/pressure' on the band can be a bit noticeable). The shoulder strap stays in place well and does not slip. It's hard to handle the price, and the very limited discount you can find online, but once you have, ideally, purchased one from a boutique (to make certain you'll be choosing the correct size) some cost-saving is possible online when you need to re-stock your bra rotation. The texture of this bra will show through a light blouse, which is something to consider if you dislike that. I also notice this bra is certainly 'snug' compared to my older ones of the same size; but realistically, it's only a small difference when compared to new bras of the same size. I wouldn't say it's a full band or cup-size smaller; but if a size is typically already a bit snug, consider that you might need to choose a size up. I wish I found this ten years ago! ... show more

    • Comfortable Bra
This bra is super comfortable. I own it in black, red, and white plus I hope to get the blue one soon. If you have never owned a prima donna bra before I would recommend trying one somewhere before ordering from Amazon. The prices are usually better for the bra here. The nice thing about it is that if you have worn prima donna bras, the size is the same regardless of what bra you get so it makes ordering online significantly easier. I have had issues finding comfortable bras for several years for anything above a D. I had a breast reduction that left me with some scars on my side that most bras dig into. I also have scars that most underwire bras dig into but the Madison bra fits well and doesn't dig into them. The cut of this particular bra is wider on the side and the support is distributed more equally so that the bra isn't digging into your shoulders as well. I still am fairly busty but even if I wasn't I would go for this bra just because of the comfort and how nice it looks. It can show the lace through lighter cotton or satin shirts so that is something to keep in mind. I live in Arizona and do wish that it breathed a little better but most people will not regularly be in the extreme heat where you are sweating alot. I had gotten quite spoiled with Coolmax materials from hiking so it isn't a bra for working out in. I really like this bra and normally don't write reviews but seeing how I own one in almost every color I thought I would make an exception. It is a bit pricey but mine have lasted at least a year without showing any wear or tear so in this case you get what you pay for. ... show more

    • A Pretty Bra That's Comfortable
I finally broke down and went to a bra shop to get fitted and hopefully find a bra that not only fit right, but was not painful to wear and still looked pretty. I wear a large cup size, so finding any bras that fit, in the usual department stores, are next to impossible. While the bra shop was able to find me a comfortable fit in the Prima Donna Madison bra, they only had one of my size in stock. (a problem I have encountered frequently when buying bras over the years). So I bought the only one they had and then came here to Amazon to find more like it. I found them and at a much better price too, so I ordered two more. I will see how they wash and wear and then consider buying some more, so I'll have enough to rotate throughout the week. The cups in this model (the Madison) hold up "the girls" comfortably and the support of the under-wire does not dig into my chest (don't feel embarrassed of your band size-- get the appropriate length that feels comfortable--this will keep the under-wires from digging into you, yet still support you). It's a three-hook band in the back, not horribly wide and matronly looking (!) The only "con" I can think of with this bra is that the straps still seem to slide off my shoulders periodically, even though I have adjusted them to be tighter. Either I just have the type of shoulders that no bra strap can conquer, or the design of the strap could have been angled more slightly toward the neckline. While it can be an annoyance, I am just thrilled about the overall comfort of the bra and that my clothes look much more flattering, now that I have a bra that supports "the girls" where they should be. Great bra! I'm a petite, natural 32I. Given my proportions, I'm no stranger to spending big bucks for bras that can rein in the girls. I was once a loyal Chantelle customer, but discovered they'd discontinued my favorite style. I tried their Rive Gauche, but the cup wasn't nearly generous enough--even in their largest size. I happened upon Prima Donna Madison while being fitted a snooty boutique. It looked quite similar to the Chantelle style I was trying to replace. I ordered the Madison from Amazon, and after a few tries found what I thought was the accurate size. I put it on right out of the box. The band excruciatingly tight--enough to leave deep welts in my sides by the end of the day. I was discouraged, thinking I'd blown the bank on something I couldn't wear for more than a few hours. Then I washed the bra in some Forever New and let it air dry. When I put it on again it was magical! The band was snug, but no longer biting into my skin. The girls were lifted and gorgeous. Best of all, they were so well supported that it felt like they weren't even there. I'm now a Prima Donna convert, specifically their Madison and Couture lines.     • Very supportive for large cup sizes

I wear a 32I and can rarely find a good bra in that size. This bra is very supportive--no bouncing with walking. I have a 2 and 3 year old that I am constantly running around after, bending over to pick them up or clean up after them, and this bra stays in place and I don't find myself constantly readjusting the girls like I did with the Le Mystere bras. I also found that with many other bras I would tighten the straps to help keep the girls up, but the straps would loosen by the end of the day. Not with this bra. My only complaint is that it is not very smooth, I typically wear tshirts with a tank underneath and you can still see the unevenness of this bra. That being said, it is still the most supportive and comfortable bra I have found in a while, so I still wear it almost daily. I have worn it almost daily for 4-5 months (and I machine wash it) and it still looks and feels like new--seems to hold up really well. I do wish they had more cute colors as I plan to buy more. ... show more
