This dress is lightweight, comfortable, and fits surprisingly well! I'm 5'1", and most maxi dresses are way too long for me unless they're sized for petites. I took a chance on this one because it's a midi and seemed to have good reviews. I was so happy that the length works for me! It's not quite a midi, but at my height it's closer to ankle length. The bodice stretches due to the elastic smocking, and the sleeves are stretchy and have flattering puffs. The skirt portion has some great movement and swing, but isn't too full. It's proportional. The fabric feels really lovely - soft and fluid. It did arrive wrinkled, but that should come out in the wash. We'll see how it holds up to washing and a light steaming. The pattern and colors are my favorite part of this dress. The blue and green flowers are big and vibrant, but the background is more white in person, while it seems more baby blue in the online images. The sleeve puffs also seem slightly smaller than the images, but I'm not as tall or thin as the models. Excited to give this dress a twirl this summer! ... show more

This dress is ok. Pretty color, very flowy. It is lined down to the knees, a nice touch. Both the fabric and lining feel synthetic-ish which makes me wonder if they would be hot in summer. The right angle where bodice meets sleeves is problematic as it is placed almost at the edge of the armpit, too far over for me. I am 5’7”, 150, ordered a large. Smocked tops are not that flattering for me since I am small busted and have a bit of a tummy. For a top like this to look good your waist needs to be considerably smaller than your bust or you’ll get straight-up-and-down effect. I am exchanging for a dress without a smocked top. ... show more

I’ve worn it to 3 different events so far lol don’t judge me, no one was going to see me at the other events except for my hubby. The material makes it feel very fancy. Love the length as a mom with a toddler who runs around a lot. The top is stretchy but not from the waist down.

    • Unflattering Fit Despite Nice Color

I had high hopes when I ordered this PRETTYGARDEN midi dress, especially loving the beautiful vibrant color. However, those hopes were quickly dashed when I tried it on. While the slip dress underneath fits well, the main outer dress is a complete miss in terms of fit and shape. The waistline area is extremely ill-fitting and unflattering. Instead of nipping in at the waist, it just hangs awkwardly, creating an unbecoming silhouette. The material itself is also disappointing, especially around the arm and shoulder areas. It has an itchy, scratchy feel against the skin that is really quite uncomfortable. For a summer dress, the last thing you want is constant irritation. On the positive side, the color is indeed stunning and eye-catching. But sadly, that's where the positives end for me on this piece. Between the terrible fit through the waist, the itchy material, and the overall unflattering shape it gives, this dress is not one I'll be wearing often if at all. Such a letdown after getting my hopes up over the pretty color. For the price, I expected much better quality and fit.
