I knew they were making games cheaper but this was ridiculous. The top lid was fine. The bottom box was made out of the thinest cardboard, like a shirt wrapping box. The game board looks nice but is very thin. It does lay flat but if kids were handling this it would be bent/broken and in the trash within a year. The checker pieces are thin and do not stack well. They do stack but while playing, both my daughter and I had the upper piece slip from our hand while trying to stack and knock other pieces off the board. This is pure junk. Why the 5 stars? So this wouldn't get buried. Can you play the game? Absolutely. Was it frustrating? Yup. I would gladly spend a few more bucks to get a product that was better quality. Buy this if you don't care if it only lasts a month. That exactly why I bought it. My 6 yo Granddaughter was playing a version of checkers on her tablet. I bought this because I thought MAYBE I could get her to play real checkers. We watch her and our 3 yo Grandson 2 days a week. Turned out she is still too young, but, they both like scattering the checkers, and playing around with the checkers on the board. Why 3 stars? Cons: The board is as flimsy as I've ever seen. Like the cardboard that comes in a packaged shirt. For 50 cents more they could have used a sturdy chipboard. The checkers feel really cheap. The BOX is even cheap and flimsy. My Wife had to get out the tape and reinforce the corners. Pro: It was so inexpensive that I really don't care if the kids tear it up, lose checkers, or crush the box. When they stop playing with it, it will go in recycle. ... show more
