I purchased this gauze to help treat some hot spots on my dog's leg. It has a decent bit of a give and stretch to it. It isn't the easiest to work with in my opinion because it snags on anything even on hands that don't feel rough it seems to snag. I will unroll a portion of it and cut it and then try to fold it in two to make it a little thicker when I wrap the leg. But I do have trouble with it kind of snagging on my hands. It does do the job for what I need it for, I just expected it to have a little more to it as far as weight and thickness. It does cling to itself fairly well. It's not super absorbent unless you put quite a few layers on so you'd have to wrap it quite a few times to get the protection you need and I would recommend before you do that, (to keep an open or oozing wound from sticking) that you apply some ointment generously and maybe put a wound patch over it. You get a lot for the price and I'm giving it a four-star because of the value and the purpose I'm using it for. Once I have applied this I apply a heavy duty Coban over it to keep it in place. It won't be enough to be the only product you use to treat an abrasion or wound. ... show more

Regular gauze dressings seem to get too bulky and don't stay in place. Especially if using on a foot wound. These really are wonderful and they are perfectly sized. This has 100% approval from my family member.

I really like the individually wrapped rolls. I keep these gauze rolls for emergency use. If you need them and don't have them or have them and don't need them, I would rather have them and don't need them.

This product, itself, rates highly -- it's soft and comfortable when used. But I can't figure our the total length of 4.1 yards. After using to wrap both ankles, u are left with a short, useless remainder of the roll. I have 30+ such wasteful "left-overs."
