Reading other reviews I was concerned that the strings wouldn't appear waxed.The look, color, length is perfect. From the feel they seem to be pretty good quality. We will see how they perform. In the interim i can say. They are EXACTLY what I was looking for. Update: After wearing them a little bit. I noticed they come untied very easy due to the smoothness the wax provides. I believe that'll change with more wear. Other than that I stand by my previous comment. Update 12/30/23 As I suspected with more wears the strings do become slightly less smooth at the tie tension point and I don't have the coming untied issue anymore. This changed long before this update, it didn't take long.

Never imagined I'd get excited enough about shoelaces to write a review, but these are so nice I was inspired, so other people don't settle for inferior ugly ones like the ones I picked up at the grocery store. Yuck, they made my sneakers look SO CHEAP. So I wrote off the loss and got these. They look and feel like the ones that come with quality sneakers and restored my sneakers to their beautiful original look. The gray was as-shown, just perfect.

If you have any prior experience with good wax laces you're probably going to be as disappointed in these as I was. There's the tiniest bit of that waxy shine to them but they don't feel waxed at all. They're doing the job for now but without the wax you have to make sure you pull your laces super tight or they'll come untied.

Pictured are my Red Wing Iron Ranger 8086 with waxed and braided round laces (not from RW) and these flat waxed laces. Appearances are relative so you be the judge of what looks better. I personally wanted to change the standard appearance and distribute the lace pressure a little more eventually across the top of the tongue. It does feel softer and gentler on the top of my foot. I also assume these flat laces wear the tongue a little less than the coarse round braided ones. Lastly, the increased length of the 55" vs the original 48", leaves more room in the bow.
