I bought this for my 5.5 year old who's getting more serious into gymnastics. I was kind of picky, so went with this one. Read great reviews, and was STILL impressed when it came. The beam is very sturdy (I walked on it myself). It lays flat, I love the velcro that holds the two halves together. I read a review or two where the two sides weren't even, and I didn't have that problem. The beam feels like a real beam at the gym, which I think is important. My 8-year-old loves her beam. It stores away easily. Best part is her ability to practice her skills that get a little scary on a higher beam. The material can be a little slippery comported to a normal beam but overall, this is great for at home practicing.

This balance beam is great. It doesn't wobble like a different one we tried. Our daughter loves it. My only complaint is it smells horrible. It has a very pungent chemical smell that will hopefully air out ( hopefully not cancer causing).

Exactly what my daughter needed. It has a nice bag with strap that it came in. It has velcro on one end so I could get her a second to connect and make the beam longer. I will warn that if you get a mat, get one that is long enough for the beam. There is a little creaking sound if she stands on the edge and bends it. I’m sure it is compromising the foam. This isn’t a negative to the beam, the beam is perfect. Just a warning when you are shopping for mats and see photos of kids on the beam with the beam hanging over the edge. This is a great beam for beginners. Our daughter just started gymnastics and she likes to walk on this at home to show us her balance skills she works on in class. It won’t last a super long time but we also have three older boys who like to use it as well.
