  • It's a decent product, but there is a lot of confusion on how to work with effectively
Size: 10 Sheets (11X17) Color: Light
When I opened it up and pulled out the instructions to get heat and time, I immediately was confused. I believe I figured it out, but first a little context (which you can skip and go straight to HOW I DID IT). I'm not an HTV expert. Our business is to produce, promote, and film (for streaming and recording)1 day music festivals, for now. We hope to get bigger, but that's not important. We have an annual music festival that we throw on the Saturday of Memorial day weekend for charity. We do them in honor of Gold Star families and the proceeds go to the Woody Williams foundation that's building monuments across the country also honoring Gold Star families and the ones they lost. We honor 4 families each festival and we make special t-shirts like the second example pic I put up. The first one is a satirical one I made for myself using this paper. Usually, the shirts we make for families are solid gold/yellow colored, and we make a combination printed picture of a mashup of that event's poster and their lost loved ones service record. Here's why context was needed. We don't DIY a lot of t-shirts or any other merchandise yet. So, my experience is limited. I bought a Cricut Explorer 3, a Canon Pixma Pro-200 (because it prints 13' x 19', think posters) and a whole bunch of different types of HTV along with printable vinyl for light and dark fabrics. After a few learning moments I got good with using the A4 (8.5' x 11' paper), some Teflon sheets and a heat press. However, this year we wanted bigger paper to do better shirts. I can't recall what brand we used for them, but it wasn't this brand because those transfers instructions were straight forward and familiar. However, the instructions of this brand/size confused the hell out of me. It does say mirror them, but it gives a temperature about 50 degrees more than I'm used to, and then it mentions silicone paper. In the past I'd made some mistakes with 'for light fabric' paper. Once, I didn't cut anything out and the small pic an text looked great except that everywhere else now had an obvious piece of clear plastic on the 8.5' x 11' rectangle. Another time I remember trying to peel the backing off and it just came away in like white flakes, etc. So, up until this point I had assumed that unless you were covering the entire surface you had to print then cut - a process on the Cricut that is not fun - when working on light fabrics. HOW I DID IT: Well, after the first failure and reading other post and questions I decided to experiment first. I successfully did some great transfers using mirror/not mirror. No Cricut was used on this, just Photoshop and a printer since I wanted the entire design to be borderless and printed on completely. I read/watched someone do it without mirroring and that's when I discovered this paper is not like other 'light fabric' paper i had used. It was more like 'dark fabric' paper where you peeled the backing off the printed on vinyl, put it face up, cover it with (I suppose Teflon paper that comes with it) or the big sheets of heavy Teflon - which by the way are much easier than using the supplied cover paper and you can ignore the whole strip hot, or cold, or somewhere in between because the heavy Teflon just slides right off immediately. For my experiments I used the cover paper that came with the paper. Mirrored: Mirroring your design will require that you lay it printed side down, medium pressure for 12-13 seconds and peel hot. At 375 degrees it's not comfortable, but works. Then lay their paper back over it and press for another 3-5 seconds. You get good results.| Not Mirrored: Not mirroring the design meant that I had to peel the backing off first leaving me with just the printed vinyl, laid on fabric with printed side up, covered it with their 'silicone' paper, medium press for 15-16 seconds, and you're done. This was exactly how I had done anything on dark fabrics; I didn't expect it to be a sheet of blank, white vinyl. However, for my tastes, I preferred the doing it the other way.For some reason the weave of the material was really noticeable. In some cases I might want that effect, but not this time. So, that's it. The confusion comes in when people are saying they did or didn't mirror their printing on the HTV. Both ways work. THIS DOES BEG THE QUESTION, WHY MARKET THIS STUFF WITH A SEPARATE OPTION FOR LIGHT OR DARK FABRICS. MAYBE I'LL FIND OUT TOMORROW WHEN MY SAME BRAND, SAME SIZE, FOR DARK FABRICS COMES TOMORROW ... show more

  • Works great
Size: 10 Sheets (8.5X11) Color: Light
It has a tendency to grab particles from wherever as you’re pressing and it shows up and can’t be removed. Other than that it works perfectly

  • Easy to use and quality was better than expected on a white shirt.
Size: 20 Sheets (8.5X11) Color: Light
Figuring out how to use them was pretty easy, and the instructions were fairly clear, which is always a plus. The quality was a bit better than I expected. They may not look professional, but they were perfect for the Halloween costume we put together. Things to Look Out For: Now, here's a couple of things to keep in mind before diving in. Don't forget to reverse the image if you need to before printing! I missed on that one and wasted two sheets by printing the image as is on my computer. When I ironed it on, the image ended up backwards - whoops. Also, I had to iron a lot longer than the instructions recommended, but maybe that's just my old iron. Overall Recommendation: Despite those minor hiccups, I'd recommend these Iron-On T-Shirt Transfer Papers. Once you get the hang of them, they're good for DIY projects like our Halloween costume. So, thumbs up from me. ... show more

  • Fool proof!! Perfect!
Size: 10 Sheets (8.5X11) Color: Dark
Great product, basically foolproof because I did so many little errors for my family project and yet they STILL look amazing. I made shirts for my family's camping trip this summer and used this product to make our family logo (haha, cheesy I know!!). My family's shirts are a pure polyester fabric. Our dog's shirt (haha extra cheesy, I know!) is a 100% cotton fabric. My first mistake: I forgot to peel the backing!! Oof!! And I actually ironed it for a full 3 mins. Luckily, I was still able to peel it from the logo and re-ironed it. Still good! Another mistake: I didn't iron it for a full 3 mins and it still turned out well. Another mistake: I didn't wait for the logo to cool down before peeling. While I do see a slight indentation in the logo, still good!! Last mistake, I forgot to put a silicone paper in the inside of the shirt. Still good!! I did a logo in the back and camp names in the front. Thank you for a great product! ... show more
