This is a handy little portable charging power bank. As recommended by the manufacturer, I charged it at home with the usb cord first. It did take a little while, but it holds the charge for a long time. I appreciate the ruggedness and ability to charge on the go. I purchased the orange one for high visibility to avoid potential accidents like getting lost or stepped on by my children (or me! ). I love that it is compact and comes with a carrying bag. Although I haven't had the chance to charge it via the solar panels yet (I purchased this in Jan.), I am really looking forward to using it in the spring. Even here in Seattle, this charges just sitting on my windowsill, I can use it as a hub as it charges, as well as the wireless pad charging which means at least 3 devices. I can use a regular micro-usb to charge it indoors via a wall outlet as well. I use it when traveling by foot clipped to my back, open to whatever light there is. I LOVE its DURABILITY! since my neuropathy means I am always dropping stuff. Waterproofed with a silicon cover to the ports, this baby is built to withstand even me. I waited to post this review until I had a few month's use out of it, and I am happy to say I am so pleased I am buying one more. I bought one of these in March 2020 when Salt Lake City was hit by a huge earthquake and I realized there were some gaps in my family's preparedness. Got it all charged up, put it in our emergency backpack, and forgot about it. Fast forward to September 2020, when we had a freak weather event with hurricane force winds for the better part of 24 hours and tens of thousands of people lost power. I pulled out the battery pack from March and it was STILL FULLY CHARGED! This pack allowed us to recharge our cell phones and our Kindles. The charge dissipated some, but in addition to charging it via the USB cord when I went into my office, I also was able to successfully recharge it using the solar panels. We got our power back in four days--but I ordered a couple more of these packs. It's huge peace of mind to know that we could power our phones for emergency communications! This is the first such power pack I've bought or used, so I can't make any meaningful comparisons with others. But the simple fact that our first pack held its full charge for six months--coupled with its ease of use--makes me a huge fan. ... show more

My niece has had her phone for quite a while, so long her battery drains very fast. I know she is always on her phone and needing to charge it so I bought her this hoping it would help her when she's driving or cooking away from an outlet or needing to be portable and move it with her. I did not know she would walk with this like an extension to her body. Lol. She absolutely loves this and brings it with her everywhere. She's had it since Christmas Eve and she said she's had to charge it twice as of last week. Which means it has lasted her about a whole week with daily usage of recharging her phone (granted her phone does have low battery life). The LED light is bright but has no throw and doesn't provide much usable light past arms length. Wireless charging does work, a little slower than other wireless chargers I've used. She hasn't tried the solar panels really and neither did I, so no review on that feature. The device is decent weight, but not too heavy. Build seems pretty fair, relatively sturdy. ... show more

The case is sturdy, instructions simple, charges quickly via USB and with solar panels. Compact, quality without too much bulk. Charged my iPhone as quickly as a wall charger. If I could rate this as -10000 stars I would. It won't fully charge itself. it took two full days of attempts to charge it most of the way. 1. No cord or power brick is provided. 2. It gets extremely hot when plugged into the wall - no matter what cord or brick is used (and yes I checked the listing and instructions and matched what was recommended by the seller). 3. It can't charge any device (even the most low-powered item I own) without stopping the charging after 5 to 10 minutes. In every single case, after it stopped, I used the same cord and a power brick and charged each device off a wall outlet - none of them had been fully charged by this power bank. Every single attempt resulted in the power bank running hot. I tried charging a cell phone on the wireless charging pad. That got both the phone and device insanely hot. I tried using its solar panels to charge the power bank - both the power bank and the solar panels got insanely hot in less than 10 minutes. Even with the bank in partial shade. The seller warns you about disposing if there are bulges but you can't throw these in the trash can. This one has no bulges but clearly something in the internal wiring is not good enough or defective. Amazon's idea of a good return is for you to not return it to them so they don't have to dispose of a lithium battery. Or you can pay a pickup fee (According to Amazon, too bad if you are disabled and can't drive to Kohls, we don't have an accessible return option). Given that it is very difficult to find a place to recycle these, I strongly recommend that you don't buy this in the first place. It is dangerous and clearly isn't fit for the purpose it was intended for. ... show more
