  • AMD DELIVERS A POWERFUL VIDEOCARD WITH THE RIGHT BALANCE PRICE VS POWER AND PERFECT SIZE
I was an NVIDIA user, but the overpriced graphic cards, lack of customer focus, and poor stock favoring scalpers' benefit guided me to put my eyes on AMD. I decided to update my old Nvidia 1080ti, an excellent video card for the new AMD 7900 XTX MBA (Made By AMD) version, the small, powerful, and efficient AMD Miracle. My all-black PC: CPU AMD 5900X, Motherboard ASUS X570 Dark Hero, RAM Corsair 3200 MHz dominator DDR4, PSU Be Quiet 1200 dark power platinum, GPU AMD 7900 XTX MBA, CASE mid tower Corsair 680X RGB black crystal TV: LG OLED 65 CX No overclocking because it is not necessary Positives: 1. AMD Delivers 4K 100 to 130 FPS on CALL OF DUTY MW2, 10 bit YCbCr 4.4.4 pixel format, with the game in Ultra setting in my OLED 65 inch via HDMI 2.1 48 GBs Stouchi fiber cable 2. Perfect size for small or mid towers, fit in my Corsair 680X with a 360 radiator and fans in the front 3. No Overheating, I tested the card Under heavy work, COD MW2 1 hour max settings 4k INVASION multiple times and 3D MARK multiple test 20 rounds reaching GPU CUR TEMP 74 Centigrades GPU JUNC 85 Centigrades max, GPU FAN 2200 RPM, everything without huge variations. IDLE System GPU CUR TEMP 53 Centigrades GPU JUNC TEMP 58 Centigrades GPU FAN 538 RPM 4. The 7900 XTX MBA is beautiful, all black, discrete led light, all metal, the design is fantastic, and the weight is like video cards from 5 years ago, not the mammoth video cards from today. 5. The drivers work very well, at least for the games I love and tested from yesterday to the present. CYBERPUNK at 4k max settings gives me an average of 60 FPS all the time, no AMD FXFIDELITY SUPER RESOLUTION Or FSR, and no ray tracing ( for me, ray tracing with the current tech is not a real deal) 6. For the most demanding games in 2022, 2023, and next-gen future games, you will need at least 16 GB of graphics memory. The 7900 XTX has 24 GB of graphics memory GDDR6. In-game COD MW2 needs 17 GB GDDR6. 7. Display port 2.1 for next-gen future-proof monitors. You can reach higher refresh rates and bandwidth 80 GBPS vs. old DP 1.4, improving everything for competitive playing, colors, response, and other essential attributes that new monitors will have Opportunities: 1. A little noisy, but it's an acceptable issue for me because the game sound is higher than the sound from the case. Bad things: NONE Pending continuum care and monitoring of the performance and temperatures in the following weeks, but actually, I'm confident in AMD, enjoying almost 5X more performance than my older 1080 TI in terms of TFLOPs/rasterization 7900 XTX Peak Half Precision Compute Performance. 123 TFLOPs. • A great graphics card that hasn't given me any problems.
This graphics card has worked out well. Initially I bought a fancier version of the Radeon RX 7900 XTX that got better reviews online, but when I tried to install it I discovered that it was too long to fit into my case. So I returned it to the seller and purchased this more basic version from PowerColor. It fits perfectly and appears to have about an inch to spare (I'm using a SilverStone Mammoth MM01), it connects to the power supply with the two standard 8-pin connectors that were already present in my case. As for people having trouble with the junction temperature or hot spot on the card getting too hot, I've had no such problem. Using CPUID, I haven't seen it get above the mid-nineties on the Celsius scale. On rare occasions I think I hear the card make a "ka-chunk" sound, which might be due to the fans stopping suddenly (?), but it doesn't seem to be a problem. I honestly haven't noticed any noise from the card. I think my case dampens the sound, or perhaps it's just that the noise levels are similar to what I had with my previous card. I haven't done a lot of gaming with it yet, but I find that Skyrim and Fallout 4 feel very smooth and playable at 8K on a Dell UP3218K monitor. Also, it better than doubled my frames per second in the Unigine Valley Benchmark, as compared to the GeForce GTX 1080 card I was using previously. I like that the card comes with two DisplayPort 2.1 connectors, giving a degree of future proofing if someone releases a better 8K monitor at some point. All in all, this was a great purchase, and a much needed upgrade considering I'd been using the GTX 1080 for over six years. If you want a basic RX 7900 XTX, or if that's all you can fit in your case, I recommend trying this card. ... show more

  • Played with fire and got burned - my card has the 110c junction temp defect
Card is incredible value if it works right. However, mine has the 110c junction temp issue. Played some MW2 and under 100% load, the GPU temperature was only around 70c when the card started thermal throttling because of the 110c junction temp issue. Going to try to RMA through PowerColor and that's fine but it seems like if you do this you could go a month+ without a GPU. Too many of these reference cards have this issue. Get a board partner card, or buy a 4080. It's really not worth the savings. Also, coil whine is horrific beyond 2300mhz. Literally thought something was about to break inside my PC while in a menu in game. Less bad when the card is cranking but I doubt I would be able to live with that, even if I didn't have the thermal issue. ... show more

  • Solid card, shameful prices
Solid performance from this card, competing against the 4080 at $200 cheaper. This reference card is extremely quiet when running under full load. Unlike the other reviewer, my card did not have the memory junction overheating issue. I stress tested the card for 6+ minutes (the amount of time it usually takes for the issue to arise) and my junction temps never rose above 78 C. I was running the card vertically, which I’ve read can hide the issue, so take that as you will. Unfortunately, even at MSRP, this card is expensive. Almost makes me think the companies produce small quantities to make artificial scarcity, allowing them to raise prices. I can’t condone $1000 for a flagship card, or $1600 for that matter (hint hint). ... show more

  • A great upgrade!
I replaced my 1080ti with this 7900 xtx. So far it has been a great card. I haven't heard any noise from this card and the temperatures have been running fine. I've only seen the junction temperature get up to 86c. Most of the time it runs around 80c. I can't give it 5 starts due to the price. I feel all graphics cards have gotten over priced. ... show more

  • It works great but it is noisy.
Performance and quality is awesome. Value for essentially going toe to toe with 4080 but being under $1,000 Vs the 4080 cheapest at time of purchase was like $1,400 it’s kind of a no brainer. EA titles get close to 200 FPS with all settings maxed. It does run hot and therefor loud but not the 110c hotspot we saw when they first arrived. Fans make noise for people who care about that stuff. ... show more
