Taking experts' advice, I've played with inexpensive drones to get a feel for them, and of course lost them all to trees or just flying off into the ether. I researched how to take the next step and was directed to the Potensic series. I wish I would have started with this ATOM. It's still entry level as far as cost, but has all the extras to make it flyable - gps, hover, return, camera control, decent range, and long battery life. It's a joy to fly and I've found many uses for it, including aerial photography, surveying my property, tracking livestock, and others I can't mention. Let me be honest for it’s s price it’s not a bad drone. My issue was hovering and too much drifting when hovering. Flight wise it was pretty decent.

It's an economical drone for those who don't want to spend 400$ on a top range drone. The media could not be loaded. Really enjoyed my first few flights. I started off in an open area for the first take off. After playing around for a couple minutes I had a really good handle on how it works and started to really fly it. It is a very smooth flight and easy to control. Once I did let it get higher up in the air, I let it hover some more and it did really well at staying in the same place, also tried the auto-return feature, it worked so well. Got this for my son’s birthday and he loves flying it and making videos. No need to register it with the FAA. The set-up and calibration are pretty quick. Controls are intuitive. Picture quality is decent. The battery lasts about 30 mins. I bought an extra battery to extends the fly to 1h. I would recommend this drone. ... show more

    • Amazon and manufacturer does not want to help
I received the drone and the battery would not charge whatsoever. I tried everything. I contacted Amazon who told me to contact the manufacturer. The manufacturer told me Amazon stores and ships the product and they have no information about my shipment so to contact Amazon. Amazon wants me to return the whole thing and wait weeks for a refund to purchase a new one which I do not have time to do since this is a gift. Not sure why Amazon or the manufacturer just can’t send me a new battery. Unhelpful customer service from both sides ... show more

Big lie about range 4km. 1st day 1st flight lost connection in about 300 to 400 meter and then it flew away somewhere. Return home dis not work and i lost my money and made my son cry on his birthday

Please read all for why I give 4 stars Pros: First, had plenty of drones for photos and videos on social media sites. This drone has very good photo and video capabilities. Second, easy setup, easy flying and great flying features. Third, able to purchase spare charger and batteries, flight time is awesome. I'm averaging about 28 mins a flight. (conditions will allow for longer or shorter flights.) This is actually 5⭐ Cons: Have slight issue now and again when trying to connect to drone in remote areas without service. And the only other issue which I knew when being purchased was there is no obstacle avoidance. This the -1⭐ Wish list: To have a software update to have the option for live video feed to social media sites. This would give it back +1⭐ ... show more
