I'm a big guy . I have had chairs made for big guys but they are built like I'm under 5'6" tall . Gravity will help me get into the chair but getting out is a whole nuther problem . Not so with this chair . I sit higher from the ground , making it much easier on my knees when I get up and easier to balance while raising up . I can move the drink holder to a more practical position quickly and the satchel on the other side will be handy holding my phone or other things . If this chair has a down side it's the carry bag . It was allI could do to get the chair out initially and impossible to get it back in . No biggie for me but I want to let others know the bag is extremely tight , thin , and has low strength stitching . With the weight of the chair this may bea problem for some but I like the height and stirdiness so much I'll deal with carrying it without a carry bag . If you'rea big person who happens to be above average height this chair is a tank . It folds open and closed just as quickly and easily as regular chairs but sits higher when open . Just gave this chair to my husband for Father's Day. It was a bear getting it open...it's very tight, and make sure you un-velcro the tie around the top. It's also tight to fold up, so don't give this to someone who is not fairly strong. Once opened it is large and sturdy and because the seat isn't raggy, its easy to get in and out of. And the seat is nice and wide and high. One nice feature is the vent on the back for air circulation. Good feature they should give a bullet point to. Be aware that it is much bigger and heavier than a regular rag chair, but I like that it has the carry strap attached right to the chair so you don't have to use the cover bag if you don't want to. Very nice chair for our "big guys" and comfortable for everyone. ... show more

Well, I have difficulty standing and thought this chair would help. It's a great chair and very sturdy. I personally have only 3 issues with it though which really for most people would be 1. 1) it's heavy. This is the issue most people will have. It does make it stable and make it a great chair because of that fact. 2) it doesn't sit tall enough for ME. I thought it did but I've got ways to make it easy for me. 3) I have to push up off the arms to help get me up because of knees and the arms only go about half way through seat so kinda make it difficult Other than that it's actually a great chair. As strange as it may sound I use this chair to sit at my kitchen table/computer table. I have a chronically sore back and hips. I had to use a wheelchair for a few weeks after foot surgery and was so comfortable sitting at the table in it. It occurred to me that it was comfortable because the back and seat had "give" allowing my body to rest in it without battling the resistence from a wood chair. So I looked for a chair with similiar qualities and have been very pleased with this one. I do use a pillow because you feel the rods under the canvas seat, and because I'm short. So this chair I purchased seemed to be sturdy but was heavier than expected. Folding and unfolding was more difficult compared to the less expensive chairs. I have to caution you and I don't know if the one I received was the only exception or defect but the sliding cup holder cut my fingers. The two top plastic brim is razor sharp. I called Amazon to return and spoke with Ester who kindly gave me a refund told me to donate or discard but I can't donate something where others may get hurt. I told Ester if all the chairs come with the sharp edges like the one i got then they should consider doing a recall. ... show more
