This kit was disappointing to me as an adult, I can't imagine how a kid would feel. It's basically a bottle shaped container with a book of DIY stuff in it, very little else included to conduct experiments, maybe like a rubber band. I didn't inspect it too thoroughly because it was a gift. I think the choice of this gift was made by a third party, so I made sure to throw in one of those 4-M Robot kits too, the tin can cable car. If you have a science kid, get them a better gift, like a chemistry set, or one of dozens of robot kits, I've purchased four from 4-M and they don't disappoint.     • Huge disappointment
Pop bottle science was very disappointing. My son saw it and was so excited, he begged me to by it. He was heart broken buy it. The experiments are not very good and most of them require a different soda bottle, not the one it comes in. We don’t drink soda so he had to wait a day for me to go to the store to buy a bottle. He was so upset that he had to wait. Then he was even more disappointed by the results of the experiments. I was so sad to see him disappointed. ... show more

The 2 experiments we’ve done thus far haven’t worked. The pic attached is 1 of the 2. You’ll see that it doesn’t mention how much salt to use... we dumped in quite a bit and the egg didn’t float. We also did the raisin experiment and the raisins didn’t bounce... bummed

I ordered used but in good condition. All I received was the book, no bottle or accessories. Book seems okay but I ordered This FOR the bottle. What’s included per sale should be listed!

    • Get your own empty liter bottles!
I purchased this for my 5 year old science loving nephew and it’s a lot of fun just make sure you have a few empty liter bottles (we used empty liter bottles of club soda so no sugary leftovers inside!).

    • Good for the book!
The book that is included with the set is great. While I understand why it is a 2 part bottle, after using it with some of the experiements (that ended up NOT working) I believe it was because the bottle was not air tight. We tried some of the experiements with a regular 2 liter bottle and they worked much better. I think it would work even better using a personal size, or smaller size soda bottle. Also, I would invest in some additional ballons, a gallon of vinager and a large container of baking soda. I purchased this for my 4 year old (I know he is a little young), but a lot of the experiments would need adult supervision. ... show more

    • This has so many science projects and my brother loves ...
This has so many science projects and my brother loves it. My only objection is that some of the projects call for a sealed bottle and this isn't air tight. We did a volcano type project and the mixture came out of the part where the top and bottom screws together. However, if you have a 2 Liter bottle laying around, it would fix its problem. ... show more
