I obtained this book to get a recommendation on the best level to use ( Four foot Carpenter's Level) and was drawn in by the great, practical writing and ended up reading the whole book. This is a good book for basic information and instruction on billiard or pool table assembly. The first thing I noticed that they really don't mention one of the most important tool during the process, a high quality level. Other than this, the book is a good guide to setup and assembly of a billiards/pool table and would recommend it to anyone setting up a table on there own. The author wrote another book on maintenance and repair of a pool/billiards table and is much more informative on this subject. When our church was given an extremely nice pool table for our recreation center it was completely disassembled. After picking it up we had no clue how to get it all together. This assembly guide was the key and we now have it up and running.

If you purchased a imported slate pool table that you are going to assemble yourself, this book is great and highly recommended. Most of those tables do not come with assembly instructions. You may also want to supplement the book with installation videos on the web.
