    • Very good starter tool…
This is a well thought out design, it will get you into basic cue repairs rather easily. The included tools are basic quality but give you a good learning experience. I assembled only two sections of the frame, I don’t need more than 30 inches or so of capacity as I work two piece cues. My first tip install went perfectly, but I will buy better tools for the router head. I wish it had the ability to power the drive and router independently, but I will likely modify that on my own. I use a shop vac to control the dust, a trap might be added later. There is plenty of room to modify and upgrade this unit to suit your needs, for the money it’s a damn good base to build on. No operation instruction is included, but videos are on YouTube. Patients, and take your time, I think you’ll appreciate it. Saves money for tips alone, (usually $45-$50 each). ... show more

Its perfect for the $$ you can basically do any repair you need with it. I had it out of the box and doing tips within about 30 minutes of setting it up and messing with it. Its a different mindset than using a traditional lathe. I've done custom ferrules, tips and joint pin / sleeve replacement with it. If you get good at doing these you'll make a lot of friends and probably never have to pay for a drink or table time again 🙂 ... show more

    • In a squeeze or emergency situation
Well the motor that turns the cue is entire to slow the motor that works the bit is good it will put on a tip if it’s a dire emergency I think I’m gonna sell it and try get some my money back or re work it and get a 4 jaw chuck for the fast motor and a different rest they don’t line up kinda wished I’d just bought the 700 dollar lathe ... show more

    • Awesome little repair lathe!
For the price it is awesome! For tips it’s perfect, cut off and replaced a ferrule on one of my Adam cues, perfect as well. Turns slow enough to rewrap the linen on my Balabuska as well, more than enough power to use a linen press tool … not going to build a cue on this, but all the maintenance chores are a breeze. This lathe has replaced my sharpshooter lathe which is total garbage. Hats off to the Roy cue lathe! ... show more

    • Bad packing for shipment. Some parts do not fit properly. Possibly parts missing.
The box was damaged during shipping. Not a good packaging job. Some parts do not fit properly; so far, I have been able working around the issues. I wish there were more video instructions.
