I went back and forth about the Medium size, because my daughter (got this for her 7th bday) was right on the line with a 21 inch inseam (52 pounds). But I wanted her to feel comfortable on the pony right away, so I went with Medium instead of Large. It turns out Medium is the perfect size for her. She hoped right on and can easily operate the pony. I think this size will work for her for a long time too. And yes, it’s a very cool toy! It’s still very expensive, but I do like that it doesn’t have a battery that will just die in a year like the other ride on cars. This seems like it will last longer. My granddaughter loves it.. my daughter and I bought it for her 4th. Birthday. It was not cheap. It is easy to ride and the size is perfect for her. It seems that it functions good and is sturdy. It was little harder to assemble it was written by a Chinese, I do not think they assembled one.
