These lights are fairly easy to install if you have even a little electrical knowledge. The lead wires could be a little thicker gauge but they work. I tucked the lights up under my gunnel rail and they still light up my boat great. The 3m adhesive tape worked great, the temp in my garage was around 40-45 degrees F and it still stuck great. I hope it lasts through the season though. I have not had a chance to use the lights on the water yet because our season doesnt open for a few more days but in my garage with the windows blacked out and all lights off, THEY ARE BRIGHT!! My wife dislikes them because "they are too obnoxious"...but I can see into my rod locker and my livewell without needing a headlamp or flashlight finally!! I will report more once I get to try them out fishing. ... show more

I bought this product to put on my OC1 for the Naples Christmas Boat Parade. I attached one strip on each side of the canoe with electrical tape. I connected both strips in series and connected it to a 12V battery (the kind you'd put in a child's Power Wheels). It worked great! If you want people to notice you in the dark, this product is it! These lights really cut through the darkness. Some of the comments I got from people on the water, "wow those lights are bright!", 'I can see you from a mile away!", "I gotta get me some lights like those for my boat!". It is definitely waterproof. Water did not affect it at all. After the parade, the lights were easy to put away. I just rolled it up on the spools they came with. I am sure these lights can be used for a variety of applications. For marine use as well as for the home. Light up a patio umbrella or get some light in your patio. It would be great for lighting up your watercraft for safety purposes or just to make your craft look good. The applications can be endless. Great product. The media could not be loaded. This LED strip is very bright. It is easy to install and requires minimal effort. Just peel the back off the strip and press against your desired surface. Be sure to press firmly as you will want to make sure the strip adheres properly. Make sure to apply the strip adhesive at room temperature for best adhesion. If it's too cold, it may not adhere fully. This is very convenient and supplies a ton of light. Be sure to pick up some LED tape light connectors in order to cut and supply power to a different section without having the need to solder any wires. Amazing brightness that worked perfect for night fishing since we were all able to see what we were doing. Definitely would recommend to anyone trying to add light in a convenient manner. Adhesive worked well however you must apply at moderate temperatures. I applied the light on a 90F day and the side in the sun had the adhesive melt away from the metal while the shade side stuck fine. Once it cooled down and all sides had properly bonded, there was no issue with the adhesive separating the bond while out on the water. ... show more

Figured I’d try this to see if it would hold up the 3m tape isn’t that great. If they fall off I’ll have to super glue them back on. I added a dimmer switch to them as well.
