Polar Tech Thermo Chill insulated carton with foam shipper. Our insulated foam containers are manufactured with the highest degree of quality and integrity. They are excellent shipping containers for everything from biotechnology, genetic engineering, organ procurement, diagnostic testing to pharmaceutical distribution. Additional products include: fine chemicals, reagents, insulin, lab cultures, blood, tropical sea life and lab testing applications. Any product that is temperature sensitive can be safely shipped in our Thermo Chill insulated containers. Thermo Chill containers are very economical because they are lightweight, reusable and recyclable. They are made in two pieces: a tight fitting lid and a seamless molded body. 1-1/2" Wall thickness. Often used with our Foil Ice Brix.

    • Kept frozen food solidly frozen packed in luggage for 9 hours

After seeing how much it would cost to send frozen food by mail, and learning that the local UPS store was going to custom build and insulate a box, we decided to try this insulated carton, place the carton in a suitcase, and fly with the carton from Dulles to Phoenix. Success, and a lot cheaper than sending next day air by any route (sure, we had to buy plane tickets, but we were flying to Phoenix anyway). Our biggest concern was that the frozen food was going to thaw out. To minimize the risk of thawing, first we made sure the frozen food was going to entirely fill the carton. Second, the day of the flight we purchased two pounds of dry ice and packaged everything into the carton, including the dry ice, and let everything cold soak for several hours. About three hours before the flight, we removed all the dry ice (you do not want to send dry ice on a plane - we found out that is very expensive), and repackaged the frozen food into the insulated carton, now chilled about to the temperature of dry ice, or -109.3 degrees Fahrenheit or -78.5 degrees Celsius. Then the carton, which we did not tape closed, went into the suitcase, surrounded by clothes. Off to the airport, a 5-hour non-stop flight to Phoenix, and then an hour trip from the airport to the final destination. The total time in the insulated carton was about 9 hours. Upon reaching the destination, everything was completely frozen solid. We were thrilled with our first-time experiment with these insulated cartons. Indeed, now we wonder how well the cartons would do with frozen food by way of second day air. However, it might be a while before we try that particular experiment. These are very sturdy containers, they hold the cold in well, and stand up to the rough handling that mailing services can sometimes do. The vendor is very receptive and made sure these boxes were delivered on time as well!

Went on a 2 day road trip and need to transport >100 oz of breastmilk. Sandwiched the frozen breastmilk bags between two flat ice packs in carton and breastmilk stayed frozen solid the whole time! Would def recommend !

    • Very sturdy, but very expensive to ship

Sent live fish using these containers to a new house. Fish were packed well in multiple bags and arrived well in the package. 2 day priority mail was something like 90$ for one though. Feel like I could fit about 8 bags (the kind you'd get at petsmart), but the height got me - I had to put less air so the bags had to be shorter or else the box didn't close completely. I attempted to ship aquarium plants and decorations/driftwood in another container (case of 2). I didn't tell usps it had liquids and the package exploded in transit due to high pressure. My package "got lost" at the warehouse because there was a leak. They eventually recovered my box with some of the plants, but be honest with your shipper and pay the premium price if you want to keep your aquarium items in tact. I bought this to ship breastmilk for an out of town trip five states away. We are flying and I did not want to carry 230+ ounces on the plane in addition to a baby. I did FedEx 2 Day- End of Day shipping, packaged all frozen breastmilk bags with 5-6oz each (about 230oz total) and six frozen gel packs. It was delivered within 50 hours from shipping and all milk was still cold and some still frozen. This was a much more economical way to ship breastmilk than other options. In total, I spent $28 for two coolers (only shipped one, so $14) and $19 for shipping with FedEx. Highly recommend if you're able to ship within a week of needing to use the milk. ... show more

I am a surrogate and need to ship frozen breast milk out every week from Texas to California. So I bought the Polar Tech 227C Thermo Chill Insulated Carton with Foam Shipper. I needed a strong carton that would keep my milk completely frozen for its journey. First of all I loved how it did not only include the cooler but included a box so I can ship with ease. I also love how the order came with two boxes and coolers and not just one. The first time I used this product I was so nervous and scared that the milk wouldn’t make it but boy was I completely wrong. Every shipment has made it to California every single week completely frozen solid. I thought the size was perfect for one week of milk which is what I needed to send. I felt the quality is great. I couldn’t have asked for anything different. It is Styrofoam, so if you are being completely rough or careless then you have a chance of breaking it. The strength of the cooler has definitely held up and been extremely strong. I have had zone complaints with the cooler or boxes. As someone who uses this product weekly.
