I'm very happy with this set. To a casual player, the minor issues should not be a deal breaker and I definitely recommend this set. A little more details... The case has issues as other reviewers have mentioned. If I were to lock it, I'd be worried about it not unlocking, but it's a cheap poker chip set and there's really no need to lock it. The case had some wood pieces inside of it but nothing near as bad as the other reviews would have you believe and it cleaned up just fine. Dents? Check. Cheap? Check. Holds chips without issues? Check. It does what it needs to do so no negative points from me. The chips did not feel cheap to me -- a casual player. There are a couple that had minor chips in them but they have a pretty good weight to them and stack without issue. For what I paid for, I'm more than satisfied with these chips. Had a decent color to them. The cards are not the highest quality, but we were able to make it through a long weekend of poker with them. The cards had a slight bend in them when we were done. Pick up a different set of cards if you're going to be using this regularly. Picked this up to play with friends and had more than enough chips to go around for 6 people. If you have friends that will mock you for having a few chips with a piece of metal showing, this is not the case for you and you shouldn't be looking at cheap sets anyway. My wife got me this set as a Christmas gift, and I couldn't be any happier. This is definitely a great set for the $28 price. I just started a poker game with the guys, and this set got lots of praise. The case itself seems sturdy enough - no obvious defects. It is not aircraft grade aluminum, but it does hold the chips in place and even has locks on it to keep out my 4 year old. The chips are nice and solid, seem to stack well, and the colors appear consistent and have a cool dice pattern on them. It is not casino grade by any means, but if you are just looking to host a game with the guys, they look fine. They "clink" heavily when tossed into the pot. We had plenty of chips for 6 guys. The dealer button, big blind and little blind were a nice addition. The cards are pretty cheap, so don't expect those to be your set to use for the game. It has room in the case for two decks of cards, so I just substituted two decks of nice Aviator cards. It also comes with 6 dice and a spot to hold them as well as the dealer, big/little blind buttons. Overall a great deal for the price. Highly recommend. ... show more

I had been meaning to get some poker chips for a while and settled on these. Even though they're relatively cheap, the chips are solid, weighty, the art work is simple but clean, and if it was just the chips alone I'd feel like I got pretty good value for my money. That's good because, I worry a bit about the case. It's good enough to carry them - for now - but unlike the high quality chips, the case seems to be a bit on the lower quality side. I'm not sure that it'll hold up to 15 lbs of chips being swung around by a tiny handle and two small pins, and I don't trust the luggage-quality locks at all. Just trying them out caused one of the keys (you get 2 with this) to twist. Probably won't ever use the locks anyway. I don't think I'll replace the case unless it breaks, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if that happens sooner rather than later. Aside from the extra chips for the dealer and blinds, there's also two standard quality packs of cards. They're fine. ... show more

I was looking for a poker chip set for a casual game night for 6 players, so a small set wouldn't do. I also didn't want plastic, or to combine a bunch of smaller sets to roll around loosely in a shoebox or something. I was SO pleased to find this set that met my quality and quantity standards for the price. I was even more pleased when I actually got my hands on the set--The weight and feel of the chips are great. We were a little concerned when we ordered these, as reviews were mixed. We see a Great value here, and are very pleased. We wanted an inexpensive set of chips, for home craps play, and these are it. Case arrived fine, chips are very realistic. They have Dice imprinted on them as opposed to cards, which we liked because we are using them with dice. Completely satisfied. Chips are approx. 40 MM diameter and 3MM thick. I added the size, because I could not find it in the description. They look and feel like real casino chips. Next time I go, I will take a chip to compare. If you just want something for inexpensive home play, for $29.99 and free shipping, this is it. If you want real chips, then pay the price and get real chips. To the seller: Since others have complained of damaged cases, I would suggest a double wrap of bubble plastic. Since these are so heavy, I can see where a drop by the delivery person, might cause case damage. I just weighed this set at approximately 16lbs. Maybe bubble plastic and foam peanuts would work better. Also I am adding that since writing the review, I have had time to acquire a real casino chip from the local casino with which to compare size. The thickness is identical, however, they are just a tiny bit larger in diameter. Hardly noticeable. I am guessing about 1 millimeter larger in diameter than our local casino chips. ... show more
