  • not all the cases are the same but 7.6 cents per chip is a bargin
Style: 500 Piece Poker Set
ive ordered 4 sets of this item ,these are FANTASTIC chips, and great denominations. REALY, who needs blue chips, my only comlaint is id rather of had 100 black and 100 white, rather then 150 white and 50 black, , as for the CASE, many people critisize the cases these baby's come in, BE WARNED NOT ALL CASES ARE ALIKE, i have ordered 4 sets of these over the past 3-4 months, evertime, they come from a DIFFERENT SUPPLIER , sometimes shiped by UPS, sometimes shiped by fedex, some have been shiped from texas, other set i got care from montanna, and i have recieved THREE DIFFERENT CASES , the OUTSIDE OF THE CASE IS THE SAME in every case, the insert inside is whats different, ive bene lucky, two of mine have wooden inserts to hold chip rows, and a place for 5 dice ( not included) and 4 decks of cards, ( only two incuded) theother cases i recieved, have a FLIMSEY plastic liner trays, cheap, pittyfull, and they only have place for 2 decks of cards, and a dealer puck, no room for dice, additionaly, the tray adds NO structural suport or sheer strength to th ecase, making the whole thing prety delecate,, i AM pleased with th ecases with the wooden tabs holding the chip rows, they are stout, and add sheer suport to the case when it is full,, IF YOUR LUCKY YOULL GET A GOOD CASE, this is a real bargin, IF NOT, THESE CHIPS ARE STILL WORTH THE PRICE!, if you get the cheep case with plastic insert, well, just dont over load it, only put half of the chips or so, and it will hold up, . its a gamble, no telilng fom what vendor or what chip case you will get, shiped ups or fedex, its nobodys guess, but , again, CHIPS ARE WORTH THE PRICE REGARDLES OF CASE YOU GET. giving you agv price of ship at $0.076 cents each! so who cares about the case, this is a bargin price, best price on th e internet, ( you have to use free shipping opt to avg the price to 7.6 cents per chip) put the chips in a shoe box if you dont liek the case, because thise chips are a real bargin case or not. ... show more

  • Definitely worth the money!
Style: 500 Piece Poker Set
My wife got me this set as a Christmas gift, and I couldn't be any happier. This is definitely a great set for the $28 price. I just started a poker game with the guys, and this set got lots of praise. The case itself seems sturdy enough - no obvious defects. It is not aircraft grade aluminum, but it does hold the chips in place and even has locks on it to keep out my 4 year old. The chips are nice and solid, seem to stack well, and the colors appear consistent and have a cool dice pattern on them. It is not casino grade by any means, but if you are just looking to host a game with the guys, they look fine. They "clink" heavily when tossed into the pot. We had plenty of chips for 6 guys. The dealer button, big blind and little blind were a nice addition. The cards are pretty cheap, so don't expect those to be your set to use for the game. It has room in the case for two decks of cards, so I just substituted two decks of nice Aviator cards. It also comes with 6 dice and a spot to hold them as well as the dealer, big/little blind buttons. Overall a great deal for the price. Highly recommend. ... show more

  • Great chips, suspect case.
Style: 500 Piece Poker Set
I had been meaning to get some poker chips for a while and settled on these. Even though they're relatively cheap, the chips are solid, weighty, the art work is simple but clean, and if it was just the chips alone I'd feel like I got pretty good value for my money. That's good because, I worry a bit about the case. It's good enough to carry them - for now - but unlike the high quality chips, the case seems to be a bit on the lower quality side. I'm not sure that it'll hold up to 15 lbs of chips being swung around by a tiny handle and two small pins, and I don't trust the luggage-quality locks at all. Just trying them out caused one of the keys (you get 2 with this) to twist. Probably won't ever use the locks anyway. I don't think I'll replace the case unless it breaks, but I wouldn't be at all surprised if that happens sooner rather than later. Aside from the extra chips for the dealer and blinds, there's also two standard quality packs of cards. They're fine. ... show more

  • Good product and case

Bought it for my teenaged son. He plays cards with his friends and they like it.

  • Great set for the casual player!
Style: 500 Piece Poker Set
I'm very happy with this set. To a casual player, the minor issues should not be a deal breaker and I definitely recommend this set. A little more details... The case has issues as other reviewers have mentioned. If I were to lock it, I'd be worried about it not unlocking, but it's a cheap poker chip set and there's really no need to lock it. The case had some wood pieces inside of it but nothing near as bad as the other reviews would have you believe and it cleaned up just fine. Dents? Check. Cheap? Check. Holds chips without issues? Check. It does what it needs to do so no negative points from me. The chips did not feel cheap to me -- a casual player. There are a couple that had minor chips in them but they have a pretty good weight to them and stack without issue. For what I paid for, I'm more than satisfied with these chips. Had a decent color to them. The cards are not the highest quality, but we were able to make it through a long weekend of poker with them. The cards had a slight bend in them when we were done. Pick up a different set of cards if you're going to be using this regularly. Picked this up to play with friends and had more than enough chips to go around for 6 people. If you have friends that will mock you for having a few chips with a piece of metal showing, this is not the case for you and you shouldn't be looking at cheap sets anyway. If you're having a fun night with friends, buy without worries. ... show more
