  • DEPENDABLE as usual --- and less expensive too!
Capacity: 128GB
I bought this to use with my newly purchased Panasonic Lumix GH6. Since about the mid-2000, when I purchased my first DSLR I have ALWAYS used PNY cards. Never has one failed. I do buy other brands (Sandisk, Lexar, Transcend, Delkin) but PNY has always been my overall go-to brand. This card handles with no issues all that I could throw at it using the GH6 (photos/videos - even high frame rate video with high bit rates). I also puchased a v90 Sandisk Extreme card as well for $170 (and it's a fine card also), but this PNY, with the same specs, is $50 cheaper. The shell doesn't feel cheap either - well constructed. Many stick with Sandisk no matter what, and that's fine, but you should at least add these in and save some money. ... show more

  • Expensive but worth it on A7IV
Capacity: 64GB
I am using this on my A7IV. Its pretty awesome never hitting the buffer in photo mode. I primarily use this just on one of my SD card slots for video to be able to shoot 120FPS 10bit 1080P. Overall I wish the storage was higher for the price, but its able to read/write at the rate my camera body needs to utilize all the record functions. ... show more

  • Snaps Like a Twig
Capacity: 256GB
One little misstep after dropping this and it snapped in a heartbeat. The card is fast and works right away, but it takes almost nothing physically to completely destroy it.

  • Bought to record 10 bit 4k60
Capacity: 128GB
Using with Sony a7iv to record 10 bit 4k60. Have to use XAVC HS codec. If you want to use interframe codec, you will need a faster card.

  • Make sure you check your devices!!
Capacity: 64GB
This offers fast speeds but if you don't have compatible equipment, you won't see that level of performance. Please do your homework before buying this card as it does cost a little more than others with this storage capacity. It will still do well even with non-V-90 class devices but I'd hate to see somebody be disappointed and come running to write bad things about it when it wasn't the card's fault. I like it very much and would definitely consider ordering the brand again. Fast, consistent, and a solid brand reputation. ... show more

  • It's Fast But The System Isn't (necessarily)
Capacity: 64GB
I don’t doubt that this chip meets its claimed rating but I was curious to see how much that speed meant in my workflow. My attempts to see the difference it’d make in a camera were frustrated because I had no way to conduct tests that I felt were fair. I had on hand a chip that’s rated at almost exactly 50% of this one’s rating so I thought it’d be obvious how long the red/writing light stayed on after a few shutter bursts. I never felt confident that my tests were valid although my sense was that this chip was markedly faster than the one rated at 50%. That may have been hopeful confirmation bias, though. Instead, I conducted a test I could time well. I copied 657 files totaling 18.1 g of data to and from an SSD through a USB 3.1 port. My results are below: From SSD to USB slow chip: 17:28 From SSD to USB this chip: 16:53 From USB to SSD slow chip: 17:24 From USB to SSD this chip: 17:15 The results are minutes:seconds. Since the SSD is a fast one, I’m guessing the disappointing lack of meaningful difference is the poor USB 3.1 port performance. The upshot for me is that where I want faster performance most – moving photos/videos from the card to the SSD, a faster chip doesn’t help me. If I was a sports shooter who needed to write hundreds of snaps quickly, this card would be valuable but for me who rarely shoots more than one image over a five minute period, it’s a bit of a wash. ... show more

  • Blazing fast, solid performance.
Capacity: 64GB
I have several PNY SD cards, SSDs and thumb drives that I have been using regularly for the past few years, and they have proven to be very reliable with zero issues, so I feel pretty confident with this brand. This is a UHC-II SD card, which is different from older iterations of SD cards in that it has two rows of pins on the back. You can only take advantage of the fast read/write speeds if your card reader is UHC-II compatible; if not, this card is backwards-compatible with the UHS-I spec (which uses only the first row of pins, the same as older SD cards). This is a V-(for video) class card that's the highest speed currently available in the SDXC form factor: V90, which means it is capable of a guaranteed minimum sustained write speed of 90 MB/s, so it won't drop frames when recording up to 8K video. In reality it's capable of much faster speeds than that, but the speed can fluctuate depending on the conditions. If your devices don't need the fast speeds of this X-PRO card then there's little point in spending the hefty premium on such a fast card, although one benefit is that this card will be future-proof, so you'll be ready for when you upgrade in the future to a 4K, 6K or 8K camera that's capable of taking advantage of V90 SDXC cards, and until then you can still use it because it's backwards-compatible. Here are my CrystalDiskMark test results for this card for sequential read and write operations with a UHC-II compliant card reader: Read: 297.80 MB/s Write: 286.87 MB/s So, the speed is pretty much as advertised, and is very impressive. If you can take advantage of the fast tech on offer here, this is a quality card at a price that's in line with other V90 cards on the market. I would gladly buy more cards from PNY. ... show more
