  • One of my Favorite Games
Platform: PlayStation 3 Edition: Standard
I want to preface this by saying that if you have never seen or played this game, you may want to consider it for a hand held console. Don't get me wrong, I love it on the big screen and the graphics look great on the PS3...but, this feels and plays more like a cell phone/tablet game. I have it for my Kindle Fire and with the touch screen its much easier to play. I will say the reason I bought this for 3 different consoles (DS, Fire, PS3) is because it is one of my favorite games and each version has a little different features. The huge drawback of the Android version is it has none of the other game modes or the zen garden. So, for all 3 versions of the game I paid less than 30 bucks, so I say it was worth it. I highly recommend this version for anyone who enjoys puzzle/strategy games as the object of the game is build up a defense of plants that attack the zombies in various ways to protect your house. But, if you don't want to bother playing those types of games on a big TV, this would be a good game for your phone at a modest price of $2.99 (again minus the extra perks such as Zen garden, mini-game mode, and versus/co-op and the two extra free games). ... show more

Plants vs Zombies. - i know that most people played this game on PC. but it never gets old. this game is a best. fun. makes you think. it is one of the best casual games because its full of content.more than any other casual games. and its good to play these games every now and then and stay away from shooters. great games. also i was surprised by Peggle and Heavy Weapon. specially Peggle. i don't usually play games like peggle. but its a great game. definitely worth it. ... show more

Platform: PlayStation 3 Edition: Standard
I really liked everything about this product. The seller promptly sent the game, packaged it well, & gave written details about the game. It was in very good condition & worked well. Excellent service. The game we had before this one got broken. Sad kids. One of their favorites. Now the kids are happy! Thanks so much. ... show more

  • good clean fun!
Platform: PlayStation 3 Edition: Standard
I was hounded by a friend to buy this for months and wish I would've listened before. This is without a doubt the most unique and entertaining puzzle game since Tetris. Not that its anything like Tetris or cubed or anything. To compare it to another game would cheapen it. You will not regret getting this game. Hard enough to beat but not too easy to have to replay a level for days, even my 6 year old son has got this game down, though I probably would recommend them at least old enough to read so they can tell what their directives are on each mission.... buy this game! ... show more

  • Meh, it's okay
Platform: PlayStation 3 Edition: Standard
I originally played Plants vs. Zombies on my Kindle Fire and thoroughly enjoyed it...having beaten it in pretty much every way possible. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to try it out on a bigger screen. This game really doesn't translate well. The visuals clearly look like they were meant for a smaller (phone or tablet) screen and the sound quality was laughable. It still has all the humor and zombie killing fun I was first in love with, but the difficulty in playing this with a PS3 controller quickly takes most of it away. Your response time for planting seeds and wreaking havoc will be greatly diminished without a touchscreen. That being said, someone without previous tablet experience in this game may very well enjoy it. ... show more

  • Very enjoyable and addicting, at a great value
Platform: PlayStation 3 Edition: Standard
The family and I have gotten hours of enjoyment with this game. I have only played Plants vs Zombies, so cannot speak on the other two included titles. I was a little unsure how well the controls would carry over to the PS3, but the button configuration makes playing the game a breeze. At ~$16, this is an EXCELLENT value and I'd recommend it to anyone. ... show more

  • While playing PVZ on an IOS/Android is certainly EASIER, playing it on the PS3 is not as hard as I thought it would be.
Platform: PlayStation 3 Edition: Standard
Plants vs Zombies is an amazing tower defense game which has taken the gaming world by storm. This game has humorous, cartoonish animation and mild violence. Your job is to stop the army of the undead from entering your home and eating your brains by soiling your lawn with plants. Each plant has its strengths and weaknesses; offensive and defensive mechanisms. The gameplay is very simple, yet challenging (but not impossible to defeat). There's no single right way of playing this game, since each person has a different strategy that works for him/her. As a person whose heart palpitates at the sight of zombies (and sometimes I squeeze my eyes shut - LOL - I'm no warrior) while playing Resident Evil and the Walking Dead, I simply loved the zombies in this game. They've got style! They range from cheerleading zombies to zombies donning a ducky flotation device. You can't help but love 'em. After completing each level, you receive "sinister" letters from the colorful undead. After playing this highly addictive game on my android, I just had to get it a PS3 version. At first, I was skeptical as to how well it's going to translate onto the big-screen. However, I threw caution to the wind and decided to buy it. Truthfully, I expected it to be a lot harder to play it here than on my android. It isn't as easy as playing it on my android/tablet, but it isn't as hard as I thought it would be. (I used my Dual Shock controller.) You collect the sun and coins by moving the analog stick over them. So you needn't to press any buttons. You plant by scrolling through your list of plants (L1 & R1) and then pressing X. While with the android version you just tap on the selected plant, the PS3 version requires you to scroll through the plants. This was a bit of a chore, since this game requires quick-thinking/action. I played this game with my six-year-old nephew and it was a blast playing co-op. You get a lot of things in done in half the time. Unlike the android/tablet version, you don't get any access to coin packages (which was a shame). By level 2-4, you receive the Almanac book. By level 3-4, you get Crazy Dave's car keys and you could buy stuff. Unlike Survival Mode and other mini games, you don't need to finish the Adventure Mode in order to play the Versus Mode. (And if memory serves me right, it gets unlocked right after finishing level 1.) The Versus mode is a two player game where you either play as Team Zombies or Team Plants. If you're on the fence about buying the console version, then I say go for it. It's worth owning, especially for the leaderboards, co-op mode, and versus mode. ... show more
