It fits snuggly on my boy. I have a 65 lb male american pitbully, who is 18 months old. He is aggressive with my cats and other male dogs. Also, chews my walls and furniture when left alone. So, he has to be caged when I'm at work. This muzzle allows him to stay in the kitchen without being caged and the cats can be safe too. At first he was upset and tried to get it off, but once he realized it was not coming off, he settled. I introduced it to him on the first day by allowing him to sniff it only. The second day, I put it on and took it off as soon as he settled down, it was only 2 or three minutes. I gave him lots of treats after taking it off. Third day left it on for 5 to 10 minutes again giving him lots of love while he settled and treats after taking it off. Fourth day 20 minutes, etc. You get the process. Now he is wears it no problem. Took about a week to get him to be ok with wearing it. I like how he can pant and drink water with this muzzle. The cage is just wide enough that I can give him small treats while he is wearing it, but I prefer not to because if he drops the treat, it drives him a bit crazy because he can not get it into his mouth or it gets lost in the cage. Great product. I was a bit worried about it being a metal cage, but it really works well and allows him to drink water comfortably. The straps are padded on the nose and fit snuggly around his ears, so I have not found any rubbing or chaffing. I'm just glad I can take him for walks and he can be left home not locked up in a cage all day. Thank you!!! ... show more

So my somewhat excitable and a little at times reactive pitbull scared my new neighbors when she lunged and barked at them. This was our compromise until everyone was comfortable with her. She didn’t mind it at all and the fit was good. She is only 50 pounds. The snout part was a bit long for her and at times it would go up to her eyes but we managed to work through that. She wore it no problem and it didn’t slip off at all. I recommend this. If the snout would have been a little more narrow I’d have given it 5 stars. ... show more

Our dog measurement's are 3 1/2 inches from the tip of snout to a line if drawn from eye to eye, and the girth of snout is 12 inches measured while making sure his jowls hang naturally and are not bound by the measuring tape. I read from other reviews that the covering of the pad, which is similar to a nylon laundry bag, occasionally can rub the skin on the top of the snout raw, so I cut and sewed an ordinary sock around the padding to make it a little more comfortable. Also, I applied two coats of beeswax leather protector on the leather straps to make them a little more pliable and ensure their longevity. Our dog shook his head when the muzzle was first put on a couple times, but that ended and he has since not tried to pull it off. While wearing the muzzle, our dog goes about his business like it isn't even there. Overall very happy. The product feels very well-made and I recommend it! ... show more

This fits better than the last muzzle we tried, but the leather gives her nasty scabs and calluses and cuts her face because she keeps rubbing her face with the muzzle on.

We have two American Pit Bull Terriers and decided to add a Cane Corso to the mix as one of the pits is aging and suffers from Valley Fever. We thought we should find and train his replacement now. The Corso has grown at an accelerated rate that was not really expected. The old pit with valley fever tolerated the Cane Corso as a small pup but now the pack dominance thing is kicking in and the old pit is easily agitated and we started having some aggression between the two. These muzzles insure they don't injure each other. They are easy to adjust and apply. They seem to be comfortable enough for both dogs. Luckily our younger pit has fallen in love with the Cane Corso and they have a lot of fun together, destroying our home in the process and simultaneously pissing off the older pit. I would recommend theses muzzles. Good value for the money and very easy to get them on when needed in an emergency. ... show more
