  • The best all-around tires I've ever used
Size: 700x35c
I originally bought these tires because I wanted a large volume slick tire for commuting around NYC and beyond. Gravelkings are good but they won't standup to the abuse that Brooklyn streets throw at them with the metal, glass, etc in the bike lanes. Just hit 1000 miles on a 35mm set of these tires and I absolutely adore them. They are super durable, relatively low rolling resistance tires that are perfect for sailing along broken or uneven pavement. I run them tubeless and drop the pressure down to the low 50s and it just makes everything that much better. Did I mention that these are also faster than the Gravelkings? ... show more

  • Excellent Grip & Durable, not easy tubeless
Size: 700x28C
Great winter tires for confidence on rough roads. I ride mostly paved urban trails in the midwest, which are maintained less often in the winter months. You can feel the added reinforcement on bumps. The grip is exceptional, even over the normal fall/winter road debris. There certainly is a rolling resistance penatly, which is apparently on long straight stretches. I've been spoiled by the Schwalbe "tubeless easy" setup. These are on-par with other tubeless tires in that your thumbs are going to be challenged. All things considered, I can ride confidently in the worst conditions and I have no doubt I found the best possible winter option. ... show more

  • Easy to Install
Size: 700x32C
Relatively easy to install compared to other tubeless tires. Can actually do it without tools. Sealed the first time with sealant. Appears fast on the road, but that can be quite subjective. Tire size was 700x32 chosen to be more comfortable than the 28 originally on the bike. Unable to discern any difference with the increase in size. Prior tire was Continental tubeless which were good in that regard. May need more miles to make a conclusive opinion. Expect this tire to be very durable, but time will tell. Pleased so far. ... show more

  • Great tires, easy to mount on a tube setup.
Size: 700X26C
Easy to install with tubes, not into TL for road riding. I mounted these tires on an old Bontrager Race wheelset for training. Overall great road feeling, good break performance, responsive and relatively fast. They give me confidence when going on light or medium gravel — I have punctured Michelin SC Pro 4 before on the same roads, and my GP5000s are just too thin for any gravel. ... show more

  • Remarkable training tire.
Size: 700x28C
After one month, seems very durable, excellent ride quality and holds pressure better than I've ever experienced. Using a tubeless setup, on 28c I run 60 psi front and 70 rear weighing 185lbs. Strong technology also provides low rolling resistance aside from test reviews available online.Personally, I never ride on drums like they employ for their RR lab tests. ... show more

  • They work well, and they sealed easily.
Size: 700x32C
I have the 700x32 version, and run them tubeless with Orange Seal, on 700Cx23.4mm internal width rims. Getting these onto the rim was decently difficult, and I had to use two tire levers. Once they were on the rim however, I was able to pump them up and seat them right off the bat. Adding sealant went well as well. I've put about 850 miles on these so far, and I haven't gotten a flat, and they seem to have a decent bit of life left in them. Their grip in decent weather is great, and on my few rides where there was rain, or the ride a couple of days after snowfall have been decent, although I did slip once on wet leaves. The tread is not very thick, and wore away relatively quickly, but they're also slick tires. My couple of rides on a packed dirt rail trail went well, except when I was going uphill on particularly loose gravel while standing. ... show more

  • Weak walls
Size: 700x32C
I had two sidewall ruptures in a week. Neither of these ruptures were caused by any objects. They were cracks that rupture. The first rupture seal with the darts. the second rupture was too big to seal with and I had to use a tube to make it back home. I checked the tire and I notice that there are other small cracks on the side wall. I am very concerned about the safety of this tire. ... show more

  • Easy Install - See Part II - See Part 3 (Do Not Over Inflate)
Size: 700X26C
I have not ridden these tires yet, but the install could not have been easier. Went on by hand, poured in Stan's sealant, popped the last piece on with tire lever. Inflated with a compressor and they popped right on (front tire needed the valve stem removed). Took about 15 minutes total. I'm impressed. Also impressed with the packaging. Almost too nice to recycle. Oh and last but not least the tires arrived a day early giving me enough time to get them on before for my weekend rides. Off to a good start. Part II Changed my review from a 5 stars to 1 star. I would give them a negative number if I could. These tires earned it. Brand new Pirelli Cinturato Velo tubeless tire blew off the rim at 70 miles. Sounded like a gunshot. Didn't hit anything. Didn't puncture. Bead just blew. Fortunately I was rolling about 10 mph. Put a tube in it and kept it moving. At this point I consider these tires dangerous in the tubeless mode. I will never run these tire tubeless again. I may never ride on these again period. I think the bead is too flexible, too soft. I'll will contact Pirelli. They need to know. I would like a full refund and my front wheel trued. Part III Pirelli responded to my email in an appropriate fashion. While waiting on Pirelli I read the fine the print on the side wall of the tire and noticed something I didn't notice before. There are two inflation specs, one with an inner tube and one for tubeless. The tubeless maximum inflation is 87 PSI and the tubed maximum inflation is 116 PSI. I only saw the 116 PSI and inflated the tire to 100 PSI. I have shared this information with Pirelli and I am waiting on their response. ... show more
