We have had this cart for a couple of months. It’s been great for moving groceries from car to house (even heavy boxes of cat litter), garbage bags from kitchen to bins, etc. —all the heavy stuff that it’s hard for seniors to carry. It’s sturdy and easy to maneuver with the wheel configuration. We only have one step to get over, but the cart does it well. So far we are very pleased…it’s a real back saver! ... show more

Recently I moved into an apartment where I can walk to most things, including the grocery store, so I decided to get one of these 'old lady' shopping carts like my grandmother used to have. The really cheap ones look exceedingly flimsy, so I stepped up a bit to this one. So far it hasn't disappointed me. I noticed most of the negative reviews (or negative comments in otherwise positive reviews) are along the lines of "this thing is SO hard to assemble." Don't be intimidated, it's really not. The only assembly required is to install the large wheels on their axle and snap on the handle. The instructions claim you will need a pair of pliers and a hammer. I did everything with my bare hands, no tools required. I'm in my 50s and reasonably strong, but not a gorilla. That said, if you have very limited hand and arm strength, you could have some challenges. There are cotter pins to bend and springs to hold compressed while you are doing that. This takes a bit of strength and coordination, but not much. If you think you might have trouble, recruit a neighbor, friend, grandchild, or spouse, or look up one of the many services that will come to your house to perform small chores. Enough about that - once you get the cart assembled, it's a very sturdy unit. Rolls well, easy to steer, and holds a lot of groceries. I find it easier to pull than push, especially if the ground / sidewalk is lumpy, but that's true of all carts of this style. Once you are on the smooth floor at your local Piggly Wiggly you can push it like a normal shopping cart. The cart folds up neatly to store in a closet, and there is a latch that keeps it folded - which was not installed properly from the factory on mine. I had to re-attach it, which required pliers and some effort - thus deducting one star. Note that you can't just lean it against a wall when folded, as the wheels will allow it to roll away from the wall and fall on the floor. If you need to lean it against a wall with no support, just turn it upside down so the wheels are up. Or you could install two hooks in the wall and hang it up. Otherwise store it where it's confined naturally. I've got it in the gap between my stacking washer and dryer and the wall. Time will tell if the casters and attachments hold up. If some of the cotter pins and washers eventually fail, the cart comes with extras, a thoughtful touch that acknowledges the reality of the cheap Chinese hardware. My only regret in this purchase is that I didn't buy it 5 months ago when I first moved into my highrise apartment that required me to carry groceries and equivalent of 3 blocks from the parking garage. Countless heavy bags, numerous trips and a shoulder injury later I ordered this. It is far better quality than what I expected, its sturdy, solid well made and folds flat taking little room in my studio space or the backseat of my car. The wheels are sturdy, turn well and manage the bumpy garage space without problem. I appreciate the padded handle bar and the attention to detail in its construction. The ease with which it folds up smoothly and without a fight is really appreciated. THis is the best purchase for apartment living I've made. If I knew what I know how, I would have bought this before I moved in. ... show more

I would give it zero stars if I could. It feels flimsy-I do not think it’d be able to withstand the weight it advertises. Wheels are wobbly and unsteady at best. If you need to lift it to get up and down stairs, the only natural place to grab is the same side that collapses-there’s no easy way to lift it from the other sides. This is my bad for not bringing my tape measure to the subway before purchasing, but it’s about 2 inches too wide to fit in the turnstile. Pros: it does collapse nicely and as advertised. It also does have an adjustable handle to accommodate a few different heights. I wish I hadn’t thrown out the packing so I could return it. ... show more
