Description

Pilot Fountain Pen Cap less Fermo, Diamond Silver Body, F-Nib The Fermo pen from Pilot is a luxurious fountain pen with a very sleek and gorgeous design. Like the Cap less Decimo, the pen is part of a Japan exclusive line of retractable fountain pens. A simple twist mechanism keeps the fountain pen nib safe, there is no cap to unscrew or take off. It is one of the rare fountain pens that work using this mechanism, which means that the fountain pen nib is located near the clip rather than on the opposite side so that it can face up.

  • Another winner!!!
Style: Medium Color: Diamond Silver
I Love Pilot capless fountain pens and there was no doubt I wouldn't love this new addition to my collection. The silver is sleek and professional. It feel comfortable in my hand. I write big so most of my fountain pen nibs are medium to stub. I bought this one with a medium nib. It wrote divine right out of the box. Unlike the Pilot Vanishing Point with it's clicker to dispense the nib, the Fermo takes one full turn on the end of the pen for the nib to come out. Smooth writer. Unfortunately mine didn't come with a converter and I was a little turned off by that, but I used the converter on one of my other vanishing points. However, if you prefer to use ink cartridges it comes with an empty ink cartridge which you can fill with your own ink and a metal cartridge cover. I will definitely buy more. ... show more

  • Practical and classy
Style: Fine Color: Dark Green
The nib on mine is really wet and smooth for how fine it is. I'd been using a Waterman Perspective in fine and even though it is broader, it writes less smoothly than this Fermo. In contrast to many reviewers I find it very natural to open this with one hand. My hands are probably above-average in size, but not huge. It quickly and easily opens using my thumb and pointer, and a thumb flick closes it. I bought the Fermo because I worried that the click-open mechanism would partially open by hitting the bottom of my shirt pocket, drying out the nib. That can't happen with the Fermo, and after finding that I can open the Fermo nearly as quickly as a clicker I was very happy to have picked it. Mine is dark green. The twist mechanism is a metallic, automotive-looking green and the barrel is glossy green pen lacquer. Seeing the pictures I worried that the top didn't seem to match the barrel, but in person it's clearly not meant to match and it looks better that way. I use my pen to document electronics repairs. I use Noodler X-feather on forms printed on cheap copy paper. My Waterman ink would need changed every few days regardless of how much I used it because it would start to dry and get skippy. The X-feather ink is bad about that in all of my other pens too, except this one! It's wetness combined with how easy it is to close when I'm pausing to think means that this pen runs empty without ever getting skippy. Mine didn't come with a converter. This can take the CON-40 and the recently discontinued CON-50. I've used both and prefer the 40, though it doesn't seem to hold as much ink. The X-feather ink sticks to the sides of my converters, except for the 40. Maybe it's lined with glass or something. This lets me see how much I have in there. The 40 has a smoother action too. When filling a converter the nib has to be able to be immersed about 1.5 inches. You have to keep an ink bottle full, or syringe ink into an ink sample vial or similar. I think the Fermo is probably the most practical fountain pen you can buy. It's obvious why the vanishing point pens are practical, but the Fermo won't partially open by accident and doesn't make any sound. ... show more

  • The Pilot Fermo is a gorgeou top of the line fountain pen
Style: Medium Color: Diamond Silver
Every time I think I have found a great Pilot fountain pen I run across a new one and my bank account sighs. The Fermo is the classier better-looking version than the Vanishing Point, but the Fermo could easily sit at the Decimo's table. I purchased the silver one and it is just a dream. I tested the Fermo on crappy copy paper and it ran into a broad line width. I inked it up with Noodler's Aircorp blue black and pulled out my Tomoe River Paper journal and Fermo sang the song of its people. All the beautiful buttery smoothness of a gorgeous nib coming into contact with the premium paper. If you hate fountain feedback as much as I do this pen will be the only one you use. I know some people hate the Vanishing point because of the clip placement, I have to be honest I actually like it. My atrocious cursive needs all the help it can get. The Fermo also has the clip but much thinner and feels less intrusive while giving more guidance. The seller is excellent I wasn't expecting my pen for another 4 weeks and less than 3 weeks later I sit here stroking this gorgeous pen. This is a "treat yo self" type of pen and it will make you smile and other fountain pen owners green with envy! ... show more

  • Smooth F nib
Style: Fine Color: Diamond Silver
Fermo writes a smooth line. One of the smoothest nibs I have. It's a true Western fine. The silver color unifies the pen's aesthetic. The twist mechanism is great for putting it in your pants pocket since it won't accidentally open like the Vanishing Point. I highly recommend it.

  • Excellent Fountain Pen
Style: Medium Color: Dark Blue
The media could not be loaded. Excellent fountain pen. Great value for the money, nib is 18K gold. Twist mechanics makes this pen fast to “uncap” so you can take notes quickly. Clip is not on my way when I hold the pen. Highly recommended.

  • Its performance is like any other Vanishing Point and has the same issue
Style: Fine Color: Dark Green
I've used Pilot Vanishing Point pens for years but this is my first Fermo. I am really enjoying the pen. Its performance is like any other Vanishing Point and has the same issue, if it is one for you, of the pocket clip being your finger guide. But it's different in that rather than pressing on a button to extend the nib this one uses a rotary motion. It require almost 300 degrees of rotation against an internal spring to extend the nib - difficult with one hand but doable. What I like about it is that whereas the metal button on the click type VP easily gets abraded from the constant up and down - this pen has no visible signs of wear. The writing is superior to most any pen in this price range, the nib and converter are easily exchanged, and the mechanics are extraordinary smooth and precise. Update - I now have three Fermo pens - two are F and one EF - they are amazingly durable - continue to write flawlessly. ... show more

  • Quality

This product is beautiful aAnd classy. It does have some weight to it. My only regret is that I didn’t get the extra fine. I ordered the fine and I am probably going to order EF nib replacement.Other than that this pin is everything beautiful classy fountain pen should be.
