I love this set! I’m still somewhat new to soap making and I really wanted to try a few different types of bases. This set is great because you get a 1lb block of each different type, allowing you to try them all without paying a lot of money or getting stuck with a lot of one kind that you may not like. Although I think you’re going to like them all! Each one has glycerin in them so they will all create lather. So far the olive oil is my favorite, it’s so creamy! They have mixed well with the essential oils I’ve used as well as additional moisturizers like almond oil, vitamin E oil, argan oil and rosehip seed oil. I’m making a large variety of different types, scents and shapes for Christmas gifts that my family is going to love. Melt and pour soap is so much more fun, quick and easy than the old fashion mixing of lye to make homemade soap and it’s a craft that can be done with your children. This set is perfect for “wowing” people with the variety of creations you can come up with, such as adding ground oatmeal to the oatmeal base for a great exfoliating soap or dried lavender and lavender essential oil to the olive oil soap for a relaxing shower. 6 out of the 7 were amazing! Finished up the last bar last night. Been using them up the last several weeks without issues and loved everyone. Made several soaps with different oils and colorants and they turned out beautifully. Even melts too. Then last night I melted the shea as usual and it was normal at first, but it got a film then became goopy all of a sudden. When we attempted to slowly increase temperature to 130F to fill our molds, it seemed fine but it rapidly cooled when we poured our molds so our molds were hard by the time we sprayed the air bubbles. I layered my soap with 2 of the melt and pours. I used goats milk and honey. I added roses on top for a little razzle dazzle. The base was easy to work with and set in a timely matter. It was hard to the touch and I wish it lathered a little better. They barely have a scent, so I suggest adding your own. Also add some oils so that is not so hard and it will be more moisturizing. ... show more

I bought this box of soap bases in June. Earlier in my life, I made soap for myself and family and friends so I know what soap I want and what it should feel, smell and act like. I first made soap bars from the olive oil base. Using the directions provided. I added no color or fragrance but did add some oatmeal grains. I tried so hard to like it and use it and get any feeling of what my own olive oil soap used to feel like. This was a bad experience! I could not get any "suds" at all. And no feeling of moisturizer. Unless I rubbed and rubbed and rubbed. So I finally discarded the last of those bars and tried another of the bases. This time, the Oatmeal. I thought that surely, with the oatmeal bar, and a bit of lavender, I would feel some difference, Absolutely not! Then today, after trying so hard to like these beautifully wrapped and packaged soaps, I threw the rest of them away. What a great disappointment and waste of money. ... show more
