  • Use the right software!!!
I purchased these blanks to maximize the number of MP3s I could fit on a single CD for my VW's stereo. I created a 790MB image using UltraISO, but that program does not even attempt overburns (seeing these discs as having only 700MB capacity). So then I downloaded a free program called ImgBurn (v2.5.8.0) and that program saw the same size discrepancy as UltraISO but gives the option to either overburn or truncate the image. ImgBurn then successfully overburned the 790MB CD (at 8x speed using a Lite-On burner), and now I have over 200 songs on a single CD, and my car stereo plays them in random order. There are very few brands of these high capacity blank discs, and I chose Philips because they were one of the original companies that set the international standards for all CDs, but you'll need software that supports overburning to take advantage of the extra capacity. ... show more

  • Good discs, but you need software that supports overburning to burn 90 minutes
These discs really do hold 800 MB or 90 minutes of audio. A CD-R cannot identify itself as larger than 80 minutes due to a limitation in the ATIP structure, so these will appear to be 80 minute discs when inserted into a CD burner. To get the extra capacity you need a CD burner and software that supports overburning (I used a LiteOn iHAS524 B, and K3B with cdrtools, but any recent drive and any software supporting overburning should work). Once recorded, they can be played back like a normal disc. Unlike 99 minute discs, these discs work in my car CD player (2009 Honda Civic). ... show more

  • So far so good.
So far, so good. Have overburned at 90 minutes with only one problem: when disc changes from last track to first track, it does not start at beginning of track. Lead in problem. Will experiment to find possible resolution.

  • Excellent CDs
They do what they are meant to do: recording 90-minute music. In fact, if you adjust the burner a little, it can even take as much as 92 minutes of music.

  • Deceptive Advertising
Most of these CD-R disc hold only 702 MB. Philips labels these disc as holding 800 MB. I'm not pleased at all.

  • Faulty Advertising
The CD-R was supposed to be for 90 minutes, and when I put it into the computer, it reads 80 minutes. Kind of hard to make a 86 minutes CD this way.
