Its one piece construction is specially sized and shaped for babies 3+ months old and adheres to the American Academy of Pediatrics guidelines. Soothie is designed to calm and soothe without inhibiting normal oral development, like the natural development of teeth and gums. Transparent, tasteless and odorless, the nipple is strong and smooth. It won't become sticky, discolored or misshapen. Soothie is made of hospital-grade, BPA-free and latex-free silicone for strength, comfort and durability. It is dishwasher safe and can be sterilized in a sterilizer. Soon all of our Soothies will say Philips Avent; but for a while, you may see some products that say “Soothie, Children’s Medical Ventures” and others that say “Philips Avent” in market. My daughter loves these pacis and so do I!! These have been with us since the hospital 14 months ago. I love these pacis and can't recommend them enough. They have helped her soothe to sleep and just are so cute in their little mouths. We did go through a phase where she couldn't hold it in her mouth when she would sleep and the minute it fell out she would start crying so I thought it was the Paci being too heavy but it ended up being just her and a phase because I bought an estimate of 50 different types of pacis to try and she always went back to this one. They are so easy to clean the hole is great for a Paci string. The tab on the back is great for the loveys that attach to them. I love these and can't buy enough of them!! Our baby has been cluster feeding and comfort nursing and was generally inconsolable unless he was nursing. First try with the soothie and he was successful and asleep in minutes. Our newborn doesn't always take a pacifier, but when she does, we give her the soothies. We prefer the single piece of silicone, knowing it isn't a choking hazard. We also like that they don't hold water when you boil to sterilize.

I got this for my nephew, and it ended up being the only pacifier he ever accepted. He had some feeding issues and the shape of this pacifier worked great for him to be able to latch onto.
