I absolutely 100% recommend the Avent bottles. I was using the Dr. Brown's bottles at first for my preemie but he wasn't taking all the formula. He couldn't get a good latch with the Dr Brown's bottle. So, the occupational therapist recommended we try the Avent bottles. With the shape of the nipple being wider and shorted, he got a good latch. And finally he started finishing full bottles. I like that the Avent bottles are so much more easier to clean than the other complicated bottles with all those pieces! Avent has so many different nipples with all types of flow rates to fit every baby's needs. Having a preemie, the flow rate is so important. It was easy to find the size 0 nipples for premature babies. They literally sold it everywhere! I'm so glad that I found this gift/starter kit. It's such a steal at around $30 bucks, I got everything I needed for our trip home from the NICU. :) ... show more

Every baby is different. However, I will say we lucked out with these bottles. I originally received a sample in the Amazon baby box. When we decided to transition our breastfeeding baby to the bottle because I was going back to work soon, we decided to give the sample bottle a try since I hadn't bought any yet. When I started pumping, we tried the Medela bottles which my other son loved. This one, not so much. He found it much easier to latch on to these nipples. It also caused less nipple confusion. He went back and forth between bottle and breast without much fuss. I'm not big on pacifiers, but he ended up liking the ones in this set too. He generally takes them to self soothe at bedtime or when he's sleepy and wants to suck on something but is not necessarily hungry. My husband prefers the little brush to the one that I got from target. All in all, this is a great started set. In fact, just bought more bottles of the same kind. ... show more

*Update: these are the perfect bottles when adding cereal while still using the level 1 nipple. Without cereal, the flow is a little too fast. I love how these bottles are easy to clean, and the wide neck also makes it easier to fix bottles at 4 am in the dark without making a mess. My only complaints is that the level 1 nipple's flow is too fast. My baby would always have milk running down the sides of his mouth with every feeding. I have used Dr. Brown's bottles before & their level 1 nipple's flow is slower & no milk is wasted. ... show more

Love these being colored as i bring them to a daycare and they cant be confused with anothers bottle. Also love the bottle brush wish they sold the brushes separately. Oh and my newborn took to the nipples like the breast no problems. Nice flow as well. No over flow like some other brands.
