  • Oh, this is SWEET
I searched long and hard for a new monitor, primarily in the 27" range. However, this 32" one caught my eye because of the attractive mix of 4K resolution, 60 hz refresh, an IPS panel and (most importantly) the price. I don't do too many first person shooters, so the fastest response time isn't critical to me. The screen looks great, the curved surface really does seem to make a difference. That 4K resolution makes everything look so sharp and clear. The only down side is that any low-resolution web images show every flaw. It's very bright, maybe TOO bright. You'll want to turn down the default setting. It has several settings for tweaking the screen, such as low-blue mode, which I have not used. I noticed a little bit of smearing when I scroll web pages, but it's not too bad. The on-screen menus are well laid out and the control buttons work well, not like another monitor I have where you really have to push hard on them, then they give you 2 or 3 "jumps" and you overshoot your intended setting. There is a shortcut on one of the buttons to directly control the speaker volume, so you don't have to dig through the entire menu just to do that. I tried using the built-in speakers for my front-center channel, but they sound pretty bad. It's nice and stable on the base and the styling looks good. All-in-all a great monitor that I hope to use for many years. ... show more

  • Love the curve and resolution
I got 2 of these for a home office to replace 2 27" flat 2560x1440 monitors. I love the upgrade! Higher resolution can be annoying on some older apps that don't properly support higher DPI, but that's nothing unique to this monitor. Newer apps look great. The curve is more appealing even that expected. I much less often tend to ignore or 'forget' windows off in the corners. While this is more for productivity, it seems respectable on a few 5-10 year old games I tried. A couple minor complaints, but overall a great monitor especially for the price. Positives: - Curve - great look, helps make more of the screen feel usable - Resolution - sharper picture, especially on text Negatives: - Stand - no adjustments. You'll absolutely want to get a 3rd party adjustable VESA mount - HDR - doesn't exist on this monitor :). It's 8 bit-per-each-of-R/G/B only. I think this is a worthwhile trade-off for the price, but it's the only picture-related matter I wish was different ... show more

  • Long-Term: Very satisfied
I purchased this item new from Phillips directly (via their Amazon storefront) 3 years ago. 5-star product all the way. I was needing to retire my older iMacs that I was using for monitors and wanted a 32” curved unit to maximize my desk space. I am a full time graphic designer so it is not a component I wanted to have to think or worry about during my day. This monitor has delivered on that promise. I was impressed with Phillips warranty and I have not had to use it at all. Three years running and no dead pixels. No issues at all. Even the speakers are decent! I was so impressed upon receiving it that I soon purchased another to become dual monitor compatible. Attempting to save a few dollars, I purchased the 2k version thinking I could adjust the second monitor to color match but that was not to be, no matter how much adjusting I tried. I sold that one locally (even though Phillips was willing to accept it as a return) and purchased another matching 4k E-series and those two color matched precisely. Once this was dialed in, I have not had to think or worry about anything monitor related ever. They just work and work very well. Pros: Color range and quality is spot-on for a 4K monitor. Unit is sturdy and trouble-free and has been for the three years I’ve owned it. Cons: Set-up and options menu feels like it was coded in the 80’s but this is probably how most monitor UI is so I can’t blame the Phillips for that. Once set-up, it’s not something you need to trouble yourself with and fine tuning can be done via the computer settings. ... show more

  • Excellent Value, Except For dead Pixels
After a few months of use, I find this monitor to be well worth the $330. Pros: Only 4K, curved, 32" for that price. The rest were $400+. Good colors and clarity, even during moderate action gaming. Out of the box, the colors were a bit dull, and there was some noticeable blur in motion, but with some experimentation in the settings, those issues were resolved. The brightness is enough to withstand having a large window at my back as I face the screen. The aesthetic of the monitor's housing is simple and not a distraction at all. The bezel is quite thin on the top and sides. Cons: The biggest issue I had was obviously the dead pixels, as seen in the pics. Otherwise, this monitor would have gotten 5 stars from me. It must have been damaged during packaging or prior, because the box had no noticeable signs of damage, and I never even touched the screen during setup. I fastened the base, and set the monitor onto my desk all while it was still in the styrofoam protector. Unfortunately, once I did the initial dead pixel test, you can see the batch of dead pixels in the pics. I can easily live with a dead pixel here or there, especially on a 4K monitor, but a batch that size makes it impossible to ignore during daily use. I am not going through the hassle of an exchange, however, because it is very much out of the way, in the upper right corner, and I only notice it whenever I X-out an application. The only other negative is there is a warning when you first turn the monitor on, that static images of 30min or more could result in burn-in. That was a scary idea, given that I play games for longer durations than that, and do not want to start seeing HUD burn-in on my screen. So far, though, after multi-hour gaming sessions, I haven't had any issues. I just make sure to set my screen saver and turn my monitor off if I am going to leave my unattended PC on for an extended period. Overall, though, I am rather happy with the purchase, and would recommend this monitor if you can get it for around $350 or less. ... show more
