The panel is wrapped in a stylish design with narrow borders for a seamless appearance in a multi-monitor setup. Ultra Wide-Color Technology: Ultra Wide-Color Technology delivers a wider spectrum of colors for more brilliant images. The Philips 246E9QDSB with Ultra Wide-Color wider "color gamut" (108% of NTSC gamut, 129% sRGB) produces more natural-looking greens, vivid reds and deeper blues. Bring media entertainment, images, and even productivity alive with vivid colors from Ultra Wide- Color Technology. UltraNarrow Border: The new Philips displays feature ultra-narrow borders, which allow for minimal distractions and maximum viewing size. Especially suited for multi-display or tiling setup like gaming, graphic design and professional applications, the ultra-narrow border display gives you the feeling of using one large display. IPS Technology: The Philips 246E9QDSB utilizes IPS display technology, which gives you extra wide viewing angles of 178/178 degree, making it possible to view the display from almost any angle. Unlike standard TN panels, IPS displays gives you remarkably sharp images with vivid colors, making it ideal for not only Photos, movies and web browsing, but also for professional applications, which demand color accuracy and consistent brightness at all times. AMD FreeSync technology: Gaming shouldn't be a choice between choppy gameplay or broken frames. With the new Philips monitor, it doesn't have to be. Get fluid, artifact-free performance at virtually any framerate with AMD FreeSync technology, smooth quick refresh and ultra-fast response time. LowBlue Mode: Studies have shown that just as ultra- violet rays can cause eye damage; shortwave length blue light rays from LED displays can also cause eye damage and affect vision over time. Developed for users’ wellbeing, Philips LowBlue Mode setting uses a smart software technology to reduce harmful shortwave blue light. Flicker-free Technology: Due to the way brightness is controlled on LED-backlit screens, some users experience flicker on their screen which causes eye fatigue. Philips Flicker- free Technology applies a new solution to regulate brightness and reduce flicker for more comfortable viewing. • Impressed for the price
Size: 24" FHD
So...I'm a pro digital artist. I work in Photoshop so color accuracy is a big deal for me. The last monitor I had died on me and honestly I couldn't afford to replace it for awhile so I had been color checking on my tablet and working on my laptop. Terrible combination. So I was looking for an affordable monitor with good color accuracy. At this point I would've settled for "decent" color accuracy until I could afford something better. Seeing as how this is the only wide gamut monitor in this price range I decided to take a chance. I'm actually really impressed. For the price this has everything I wanted. The color is good. Not perfect, but VERY impressive for a budget model. Screen is really nice, brightness/contrast suits me and my work has been pretty spot on after I switched the color profile to srgb mode. I haven't tried to game on it just yet, but I imagine it would do perfectly fine for most titles, but the fps would probably drop too low for multiplayer games. I don't really play any so I can't attest to how well it does in that arena. So far I've had zero issues. Was really easy to setup, calibration was pretty good right out of the box. It IS Vesa compatible, but it will block the ports a bit, even on the 75x75, but I hadn't intended on mounting it so if that's a concern for you be aware. Would definitely recommend if you need a wide gamut ips on the cheap. Can't yet attest to longevity, but all monitors run the risk of failure, so I'm not too concerned about it, especially for how much it cost. ... show more

  • Light and Easy Set Up
Size: 24" FHD
【Delivery】 I got the monitor quickly. It was scheduled for two weeks later but delivered on within 4 days. Amazon did a great job and I am very happy!! The box is in great condition - meaning not stressed - good sign. 【Contents】 There is a VGA cable and HDMI cable included. The power is a power brick using propriety connector. It doesn't feel warm at all when using. This translates to either efficient AC/DC conversion and/or very little electricity draw. 【Aesthetic】 It's truly close to frameless. The frame is so thin that it's almost like it's not there. It's right next to my Acer K242HYL (24" LCD) acquired last year at Staples, the frame on the Acer is 3 times thick compared to the Philips. The left part of the monitor panel kinds out of place. I just pressed it in with very light pressure and it snaps back into place. 【Hook Up】 The monitor is super light. I can lift the screen with one hand and feel confident that I will not topple it or drop it. It's very easy to hook up. Connect power cable to the brick, power brick to the monitor, HDMI cable to the monitor / PC, hook the power to the wall last. The power button is in the center back - directly in the back of the Philips logo. It's the joystick style of control you find in the old IBM (Lenovo) notebook. It's actually easier to use than the many buttons you need to press on the other monitors. 【Set Up】 I am on Windows 10 Pro. I plug it in and it just works - not a problem. I adjust it to 75Hz refresh rate - verified by checking my video card - but couldn't see a difference as a general usage monitor. I haven't had a chance to game on it so I can't tell how well it will work. The important thing is that the text is very crisp. My aging eyes doesn't complain as much. There are four levels on the eye protection, call low blue, 5 levels on Gama and the other normal changes you can make. I rejected the ideas of low blue but this actually works very well - it doesn't tint / blur / dull the display. Update 2021.02.14 - I can no longer set the refresh rate to 75Hz after a few Windows updates. I am not sure if there is an adjustment in hardware I did mess it up or was it Windows. Will investigate further when time allowed. Update 2021.0218 - I visited Philips web site & download their driver & "Smart Control" software. Neither allows me to change refresh rate to 75Hz. 【Adjustment from Windows】 If you are seeing blury text, Windows 10 allows me to adjust sharpness of the text from two places. One is from PC Setting, type "Adjust ClearType text" in the search box and go through the steps from the app. Another place is from Control Panel \ System and Security \ Security, click on Change settings (in the middle of the right edge). A "System Properties" dialog pops up. Click on the 3rd tab, "Advanced", click on settings inside "Performance". The dialog "Performance Options" comes up. Select "Custom", click on the 3rd option from the bottom, "Smooth edges of screen fonts" if not already selected. 【Annoyance】 Initially, right after hook up, Windows select Philips as the default speaker even though it has no speaker nor did I connect any speaker to it's 3.5 mm output. I hear no sound and I realized the default must have changed. I then fiddle with it just want to try out how it works to get audio from it. It's OK, not as loud as from my sound port directly from my motherboard so I switched back to my PC and all is well since then. ... show more

  • Reasonably_Priced High Performance Monitor
Size: 24" FHD
The monitor, Model 246E9QDSB/27, ordered with free shipping, arrived six days after the order was placed. It was in top condition due to manufacturer's styrofoam inside a strong box inside an Amazon box. The monitor setup was easy and I used the DVI connection. I was very taken aback when I turned the unit on and got a full color, brilliant display that was decidedly better than the monitor I replaced. Overall I am very pleased with the performance so far. The ISP screen is very applicable to our family needs as we frequently Skype with our grandchildren. Two of us sit side-by-side, dividing the screen, and each of us has a great view due to the very wide viewing angle (178 deg). I believe gamers might find this monitor to be very adequate but have not tried it for gaming use. There is absolutely no apparent flicker and the Low Blue Light setting gives a very normal brightness for almost all of our normal viewing needs. Toggling between Low Blue Light and Normal Light mode is a quick and simple procedure once you locate and learn the function of the single switch (see comment below). There are a few items that I will note. First, although the monitor does comply with the VESA mounting standard (in this case, 75mm by 75mm) for monitor mounting, I could not use my very flexible tilt and rotate desktop monitor stand I had anticipated using because the input fittings which extend out perpendicular from the monitor back, both DVI and VGA, interfere enough with the stand column as to prevent the use of the stand. I could use HDMI for this model number but to do so would require some challenging cabling mods for my particular setup. Secondly, the on/off and mode selector switch is rather cryptically described in the manual. I finally found the switch and discovered that it was a multi-function toggle-type switch located at the bottom center of the monitor back. The diagramatic instructions should be augmented by stating in words, "The on/off and multi-function toggle-type switch is located about one inch from the bottom center of the monitor back. This switch is used for selecting the monitor functions and for making monitor adjustments." Thirdly, there was no CD or DVD included with the order. I went online to the Phillips website under Support, downloaded the driver file and User Manual and easily found the latest driver with the helpful instruction as to how to verify that the generic Windows 10 driver was being used and instruction as to how to install and verify that the correct driver had been installed. I consider these to be minor critics. In short, I am very pleased with this high-quality, very modern and up-to-date monitor...good job Phillips! ... show more
