I got a kit, but a part was missing, and the engine had poor compression. The seller quickly resolved these issues and delivered a slightly nicer engine this time. The finish was nice and shiny (but with noticeable overspray), had more rounded covers than the old one in the pictures, and the exhaust port even appeared as though it had already been polished! I had to bang the holy heck out of my muffler with a mallet (OFF of the engine, of course) to get my vintage cranks to clear it, which chipped the high temp paint on the muffler, but no harm, no foul. The rest is a breeze! Make sure you have some red and tacky on hand; mine had no grease on the gears unlike the older one! Now for the good part: I ride in NM at 6000 feet above sea level. I put 25:1 in the tank and she started right up and took off! So far, I got her up to 30MPH with more breath to spare, but I weigh 100 lbs. soaking wet. I get a crisp, clean two-stroke "angry bee" tone with no "four-stroking". I haven't even adjusted the carb yet. I'm still breaking her, so I can't say about the endurance or my top speed yet, but its plenty powerful and has no problems starting and providing near instant low and mid power with very little smoke. Yes, it's a China-doll, but it's a good China-doll, and an absolute blast to ride! Take care of her and she'll take care of you! EDIT: It chewed a main bearing and kept going as long as it could with the balls embedded in the piston and head. Still made a good 17 mph in this state (what a trooper!) Six stars to take a failure like that in stride! I fault the bearing manufacturer's QC for sending Pexmor plant a bad bearing.

i took a gamble on this motor turned out to be a great idea haven ha any issue besides for cutting my chain too short break in i would recamend not going over half throttle for break in period had no issues though would recamend

Bought this kit a couple months ago to throw on my bike for in town transportation. Put at least 750mi on it so far. Starts right up every time. Throttle cable did break on me at the carb end. I just ordered a replacement cable and had no issues since. A lot of people are impressed with it and potentially would like me to build them one. I plan on using this exact kit on all of them.

Motor worked for about 10 minutes. After spending about a week working on it to get it to that point it ended up stalling after about 10 minutes. But after a little over a week of tinkering and ordering parts for the motor I was so happy it ran at all I thought maybe it just need to sit. The next morning it didn't even want to start up at all and it was making a scratching sound on the piston wall. After taking off the piston cap I can clearly see a crack in the piston wall and the screw that holds on the piston cap was so unbelievably stripped its like the metal was made out of aluminum or something. Motor was a piece of junk to begin with and there were other problems too such as terrible spark, the gas tank itself was leaking and I only knew after having about half a tank leak into the back yard. Customer support won't get back to me ethier. Total piece of trash. I may make a edit to this review depending how much customer support helps if they ever get back to me.

When I bought this I had absolutely zero mechanical experience, and this was a great way to learn, but if you have the option to buy something higher quality you should. All the fasteners are made of silly putty and will strip/round very easily, and the fuel tank studs snap with just a little torque. Buy loctite because vibrations are gonna rattle every single bolt on this kit loose when you start riding it. If your bike has 14 gauge spokes the sprocket is gonna snap them. Save yourself the trouble and upgrade to a 12 gauge wheel. Other than that, this was a pretty fun little weekend project.

These kits are often cheap. But the motor works great tons of spare parts. The guide book leaves alot to be desired but I've built about 7 of these by now so it the guide books faults didn't affect the build. The chain was so loose and crap that links were coming undone left and right. Besides that great product

The carb is a POS so I replaced that after it leaked many liters of fuel. Chain broke on me as well, not sure if it was because it is cheap chinese made or my fault. Got the bike running and can top it out at 35. Exhaust sucks and gasket melted but replacements are on the way. It's definitely a project but im slowly making it worthwhile. Probably got around 40-50 miles on so far at a 32:1 fuel ratio.
