  • Why go back to Copper?
Size: 1/2 INCH Style: Tools Accessories and Tubing Pattern Name: Kit
This package is a great way for a DIY'er to get started in the world of PEX. Up to this point, my only experience with plumbing has been copper and welding with solder, which can at times be intimidating, especially when mating new copper piping with old copper in an old home. During my kitchen remodel, I moved our kitchen sink to a new area for a slight design change, but that caused us to need to move all the PVC and Copper to another wall in the room. The new copper came together nicely, but when trying "mate" with the old copper, it didn't go well at all. I couldn't get the old copper to "seat" all the way in new copper T's or even Sharkbite T's without having to break out the Dremel. This specifically would still be an issue with mating the old copper with PEX, but the issues I was having forced me to do research which lead me to PEX in the first place. I decided to give PEX a try and see if it would work. Boy did it work. The first thing I noticed was just the "Dry Fit" process. Cutting copper is a wonderful workout for the forearms. Measure your length, get the copper pipe cutter on, tighten, turn two or three times, tighten, turn two or three more times, tighten, turn two or three time..... you get the picture. With PEX, measure your length and cut. Done. Cut all your pieces, put in all your connectors, and see how everything fits. If one of your pieces was a bit too long, just do a quick snip to cut a little off and dry fit again. If everything looks good, put your clamps in place and crimp. It's really that simple. No Welding, just crimping. That's the real time saver. Not having to make sure the copper lines are drained of water, not having to have a torch and solder to worry about, not having to worry about catching things on fire because a weld you need to make is in an awkward place near combustibles. All those worries are gone. Had I known about PEX sooner, I wouldn't have bothered with copper at all. I would have just ran all new PEX instead. I can imagine a plumber that works with PEX on a regular basis could probably run water lines in new construction home in a single day. If you had a rough idea of where you needed water to be, you could hammer it out in no-time. I'm a PEX believer. The cutting tool works very well, cuts the PEX like butter. The crimping tool to me seems "solid", has a nice "weight" to it. Was very simple to use and the long handles allow you a lot of leverage when crimping. My only recommendation to make this kit better would be to also include a set of brass T's as well, just so as a DIY your prepared for more situations. Overall, great investment. ... show more

  • a good value
Size: 1/2 INCH Style: Tools Accessories and Tubing Pattern Name: Kit
i liked that it came with most every thing i needed. this was my first time working with pex, it worked fine, i had no leaks after job was completed. i replaced old copper, and pvc lines, replumbed the whole house. the kit had everything needed to get started, i had to purchase 3/4 inch pex, and some crimp clamps, and fittings very pleased with it. it does take some effort to use the crimp tool, not for those with weak hands. ... show more

  • Great product at a good price
Size: 1/2 INCH Style: Tools Accessories and Tubing Pattern Name: Kit
As a general contractor I look for good products for homeowners and this is a very simple easy to use kit for smaller homes. It has the brass/copper fittings which you want (I never use plastic fittings, they’re prone to leaking). Pex comes in three grades, this grade l is not as flexible but leeches the least and has been proven for around 30 years. Would definitely recommend using this for smaller projects and for diy. Tip, use two clamps instead of one. ... show more

  • Redid my old polybutylene camper pipes with PEX
Size: 1/2 INCH Style: Tools Accessories and Tubing Pattern Name: Kit
I couldn't find an available mobile RV tech, and it probably would have been around $1000 to replumb my '88 24 ft camper. So I decided to order this PEX kit and a couple other parts. I have basically no other plumbing experience, but after watching a few YouTube videos on general plumbing and RV plumbing I got to work, and was able to successfully replumb my whole camper! So awesome to have running water after years without working plumbing because of leaks in the old lines! I did caulk all my joints for extra good measure as it's hard to access some of the plumbing on a regular basis and I know how much damage water can do if there is a leak, but it wasn't leaking with the normal PEX crimp connections when I tested the system before caulking the connections. I also have a lot of extra PEX for any other plumbing projects I might need to do in the future. I installed an outside faucet on the camper using a Sharkbite connection faucet and that works great too. ... show more

  • Quality buy
Size: 1/2 INCH Style: Tools Accessories and Tubing Pattern Name: Kit
Fantastic set... the box had everything and it took hardly no time to figure the system. The only thing I had to buy outside of this come was a 3/4" 1/2" T reducer. Worth the investment. I was quoted over 1000$ for a job but with this kit I saved a ton but also have the tools for future use.

  • Nice setup, quality materials.
Size: 1/2 AND 3/4 INCH Style: Tools Accessories and Tubing Pattern Name: Kit
Shipment (two large boxes) arrived very quickly. All items were as described. Clamp ring tool worked good out of the box, without need for adjustment. Cutter also works well, and includes a storage bag for protection. Pex rolls each in reclosable plastic bags. Fittings well machined and fit the Pex perfectly. This is a nice setup for a good sized project. The same tools and material quantities at 'big box' stores would cost at least $100 more in my area, so this is a good value. Some additional, project specific, fittings/clamps will probably still be needed, but that is expected. Pro Plumbing Supply customer service was first rate. Very happy with this purchase. ... show more
