We ordered what seemed to be the same turf but 2 different orders. This one is a little brighter in color and the “grass” is a bit longer compared to the first one we received but it still looks nice for what we used it for. Seems to hold up very well with our 2 bulldogs and water has good drainage when it rains. It does get pretty hot in the summer tho. ... show more

I got the 15’ by 20’ because I wanted to cover my small yard all in one piece. Product shipped folded in a box and needs about a day to flatten out and lose the creases. Product was easy to work with and install. It wasn’t easy to cut using a box cutter, but worked. I had to change blades every 10’ or so to cut it. I am really happy with the look of the product. I like the way the darker grasses look because they typically look more real. However we wanted a lighter color to brighten up the backyard. This looks very nice and real. The photo doesn’t pick up how good it really looks. It’s multi colored and has the underlying brown grass. It looks great and covered my area with one piece. I went with the thicker version because I wanted the look and feel to be better. Not sure if the thinner version looks as good. Very happy with the product. ... show more

Reviewed: 10' X 5' roll. I used my artificial grass to decorate a large iguana cage. When I went looking for Astroturf, I stumbled upon this product during my Amazon search. With the size of this mat, I had enough to cover the cage bottom as well as two basking shelves--and would have enough left over that I could cut additional backup pieces to swap around as cleaning demanded. Sounded great, so I clicked "add to chart." I didn't have to wait long. Within a few days of placing my order, I opened my front door to be greeted by a long box. The grass was of course inside of this box, and was presented as one large roll. I bring this up since I see others have worried that this product will arrive to them folded and creased. Nope! Just one huge roll. The grass is very convincing in appearance. They even went so far as to add some "blades" that look dead, which is so much better to look at than the too-perfect greenery you'll find elsewhere. If you're using this to create a small yard that you'll never have to water, mow, or pull weeds from, you can rest easy knowing that even a close inspection will convince someone who doesn't know better that they are looking at the real thing. It's of course messy to cut, which due to my intents I discovered the hard way. That said, I didn't need anything more heavy-duty than kitchen shears to get the job done. The blades of grass are fairly long, which was great for my usage since iguanas favor humid environments--and once misted, this grass takes awhile to allow all the water to evaporate. The iguana this material was meant for is a hatchling, and hatchlings are naturally flighty: he/she (who knows at this point?) often presses into the grass to hide, which adds to the animal's well-being and sense of security. He/she has not attempted to eat the grass, so worries of ingestion do not seem to be warranted. The material does not snag fragile claws. It also doesn't appear to be susceptible to fading under UV lighting. It looks and behaves like real turf. The grass is secured to a rubberized backing, and even with scrubbing doesn't lose many blades. The backing has small drainage holes to allow for cleaning and to prevent mold or fungus from growing. These holes aren't large enough to permit weeds for those of you who are thinking of using this outdoors. It's good stuff! ... show more

I bought this because the 1-3/8" length of the glass blades was generous and the tradeoff of cost vs ease to install was pretty good. And the final product looks pretty nice but not perfect. Now to be clear you don't need to excavate and compact and fill with sand and all that if you are placing this over reasonably firm lawn-ready soil without a lot of uneven spots, and in fact I think I probably didn't need to put a weed barrier down either but I did. After all it's pretty easy to kill any weeds hat might poke up above the fabric. So you need reasonably solid and flat but it doesn't have to be perfect. I used six inch metal staples to secure everything, I used about sixty I would estimate for four rolls of 4 x 20 ft lawn. Joining the edges manually was fine, I'll see over time if not taping the joints is an issue but my lawn is small and enclosed and I doubt it will be an issue. It's only been in a few days so I am waiting to see if the material relaxes a bit to better disguise the seams. They aren't terribly obvious as it is so I'm pretty pleased. Being careful to unroll and install each roll in the same direction made the grass look consistent. Cutting the material along its length is easy with a good scissors, I used kitchen shears. Cutting across the roll is a whole other story. It's hard to cut that direction and you won't want to use ordinary scissors. I had not intended to cut across any rolls, the 4 x 20 foot roll was perfect for my ~16 x 20 space, but the width is not the same across the entire lawn so I had to cut the final roll in a taper from about 3 feet at one end to about 18 inches at the other. The roll was very hard to manage and making a 20 foot long cut wasn't fun at all, so I cut it into two pieces which made the width cut easy -- but joining the two pieces together at a butt-joint is quite another matter, the seam is really obvious if you get close. However I'm hoping with a little sun and rain the material may lay differently and allow me to hide the joint. Otherwise I'll have to get creative.... The staples go in easy with a hammer and are well hidden once in place, just pull the grass up to it doesn't get mashed down by the staple. ... show more

Really impressed with this artificial grass. Easy to cut to size, color is great. Made a perfect addition to my dogs area. It warms nicely in the sun and they love laying on it. Would recommend.
