The installation was super easy and the included gas attachments worked perfectly. I love the look of this as compared to a real fire. I have always been concerned about not using real wood but with the work it takes to have real wood burning in fireplace and with smoke smell bothering others in the household I finally broke down and did this.     • Easy to install
I purchased this natural gas fireplace insert to replace an old one that had rotted out. The gas line to the fireplace was already there; I just had to to hook up the new burner, test for leaks, then add the rest of the components (grate, sand, logs, ember medium). Installation was easy; follow the directions carefully. Instead of pipe compound on the threads of the supplied flexible pipe between the gas supply and the burner, I used yellow pipe tape (rated for use with natural gas piping), per the advice of a tech rep for the company who manufactured the fireplace insert. It's essential to do the "soapy water" test to insure no leaks. I also had the fireplace and flue professionally cleaned before installation. All in all, I'm very pleased with the result. The burner lights much more easily than the old one, and the flames are more easily adjusted. ... show more

After burning real firewood for years I was reluctant to purchase a gas log set. Having said that, buying this log set was a great decision. It looks great adds good warmth to my house and is so much cleaner and easier than cleaning out ash and hauling in fire wood from outside.

We get many compliments on the logs, that they look very realistic. The one thing I did not realize was that the on/off/regulator was going to be visible inside the fireplace.
