I have been using the Peter Thomas Roth Instant FIRMx Eye Tightener for a while now, and I have very specific thoughts on how to make it work (or not work). The Pros: It Really Does Work Wonders. The effectiveness is undeniable. When applied correctly, this product visibly reduces my "11s" and dramatically smooths out my crow's feet within minutes. The temporary tightening effect is impressive—it genuinely makes you look refreshed and years younger for several hours. For a special event or a big meeting, this stuff is pure magic. It delivers on its core promise of instant results. The Cons: The glowing results come with a few notable trade-offs that prevent it from being a daily "holy grail" for me: Drying Sensation: My biggest issue is that it dries out the skin around my eyes. The instructions emphasize applying it to clean, dry skin before other products, which means you're putting this tightener directly onto bare skin without a buffer of moisturizer. This contributes significantly to the feeling of dryness. Residue Issues: If you use slightly too much, or don't blend perfectly, it can leave a white, flaky residue that looks like dry skin or dandruff. You have to use a very thin layer and sometimes dab away excess with a damp Q-tip once dry. Layering Limitations: The tightener works by forming a film. The problem is that it is not as effective if you apply anything (moisturizer, makeup, sunscreen) over it after it has dried. Layering products on top can break the film, negating the tightening effect and often causing the residue issue to be worse. I am not one to usually leave reviews but I had to share these results for those who are skeptical. If I could give this 10 stars I would. I was very skeptical to try this Peter Thomas Roth product due to some pretty bad reviews but I'm so glad I did. I've been looking for something to use for my daughter's up coming wedding and I have definitely found it. You can literally feel your skin tightening. There is no redness or burning. There are a few little white specks that show up from time to time when applying but very easy to just gently get off with ease. It dries super fast and stays all day until you wash it off bc it does not absorb into your skin like lotion. You can gently put your makeup on over it like normal bc it is tinted and blends with ease. One thing I have noticed is once it dries, do not mess with or pull the skin in those areas or you will have to rinse it off and reapply because it will show wrinkled areas where the cream has been pulled. Also it seems the longer it's on the more annoying it feels but if you can get past that you're golden. It will stay on as long as you want it to but once you wash it off, your bags will reappear instantly. These are things I've noticed myself but tinker with it a few times to see what works best for you. It is very expensive, so I only use it on special occasions and a little goes a long way. And the brush is very helpful. I hope my review helps those who are also skeptical bc of the bad reviews. Give it a try... it's worth it. ... show more

Does it technically work? Yes. Is it finicky? Absolutely. Is it worth the money? That’s your call, personally I won’t be buying it again, and will be looking for something that tightens over time. You have to put a good layer on quickly, I put it right on the brush and brush it on very quickly and firmly, avoiding going over areas more than once It does dry pretty quickly and you can definitely feel it working, some people may find the intensity physically irritating to their skin. If you put anything over it (liquid foundation, lotion, literally anything hydrating) the product rehydrates and rubs off, immediately removing the tightening and brightening effect. I was actually really surprised at how fast it disappeared once removed. It does leave residue around the edges, but I have not experienced the worsening of lines or the strange white spots. This is the sort of thing I’d save to use after really late nights, or on days when I know I’ll be going at 150% all day, and need to look not exhausted at the end of it. I’ll be keeping this order for specific circumstances, but won’t be re-ordering. ... show more

It took a few tries to get it right. If I made my decision after my first try, I would have thrown it out. I tried with the brush and with my finger, and I find applying a small amount directly where I need the product, then spreading it evenly with my finger works best. I am also fare skinned, so if I get over zealous I have dark circles because of the tint in the product. It has also caused irritation to the skin if I use it too close to the inner corners of my eye. BUT all of that said, it COMPLETELY ERASES CROWS FEET, SNATCHES MY EYES, REDUCES THE BAGS (they’re not gone). I had zero issues with residue. It’s not a perfect product but it’s a good product. My photos are with and without makeup- withi and without product. You can really see the difference. But again.. it took some practice for me 😮💨 - and as uneven as my skin is I don’t wear foundation or cream under the product or it does not work !!!! ❤️❤️ ... show more

Works as described. I use it on my forehead, around my eyes, and feather it downward on my cheeks. It draws as it dries, and dries very quickly. Because I smile a lot, when I put it around my mouth, it quickly cracks, making the creases look worse than before. But, I'm 80. If you are younger, with no deep lines around your mouth, it might not happen to you. Can't hurt to try. I've been using this a couple of months now, and I really like it. Just be aware, this product only works on clean skin. Using a moisturizer or makeup with it, thins it, and it won't firm up. As others have stated, using anything over it, causes it to roll-up/pill. I have seen negative reviews on here but most of them did not follow the directions. You cannot use any other eye creams or anything else on the area you put this product. You cannot touch the area either or the oils from your finger will make the swelling show through. If you follow the directions it works amazing and for me personally lasts about 12 hours. Also if you don't get enough under your eyes do not put a second coat on. It will turn white and flaky but again this is all in the directions. I've included a before and after image. They were taken about 7 minutes apart with no Photoshop, editing or anything of that sort. I highly recommend this especially before photo shoots or anything requiring you to look your best. ... show more

I really wanted to like this product, but unfortunately, it did not work well for me. The cream became very powdery when I applied it, even though I used only a small amount. When I applied it under my sunscreen and makeup, I noticed white, powdery residue, especially on my forehead. I also did not see the firming or line-smoothing results I was expecting. My lines were still very visible, and the product did not give me the smoother appearance I was hoping for. Considering the price, I expected much better results. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I don't feel this product is worth the price or that it delivered on the claims for me. I would not repurchase it. ... show more

I was excited when I recieved this. I applied it and it does just what they say, but the skin around my eyes felt dreid out and tight. You can not put eye cream on after applying. I did apply eye cream because I was curiouse to see what it would do and my under eye bags came right back and made a white film around my eyes. Not sure of makeup but I will try it. Not sure if I will buy it again. Dissapointed. ... show more
