After a couple of $500 dental cleaning bills, I figured it was time to take brushing seriously, so I've been brushing every evening for the past couple of years. My dog is 60 lbs so I use the large bristle end. The shape of the bristles works "ok", but I wish it were a little bit larger (wider and longer). Also the handle is narrow, so if you've got grip issues, you might find it challenging to keep a grip on the brush. My dog handles the brushing exceptionally well, and actully looks forward to it (its all about the chicken flavored paste), so I'm pretty much a best case scenario... and sometimes it's not easy to control the brush. The angled head makes these much easer to brush the back teeth than a straight human style brush. My dog does try to eat the paste, so there is some chewing on the bristles... consequently, after 4-6 weeks, they are starting to fray and point in wild directions. Good thing you get a lot in one package. One improvement I wish the manufacture would consider, is use higher quality bristles, and perhaps copy some of the improved bristle designs found in human toothbrushs (bristles of different height, and angles) to get into those hard to read spot. You get what you pay for with these toothbrushes. They’re terribly cheap. I usually purchase the Nylabone brushes. They come with toothpaste and a fingerbrush. But I have two dogs, so two brushes are expensive. I brush my dog’s teeth daily, so I go through them quite often. I was looking for a cheaper alternative. I found one. But not one I’m going to stick with. The handle to these brushes is incredibly thin and flimsy. It bends as you brush the dog’s teeth. It’s also difficult to hold and hurts my fingers before I’m finished with the brushing. I wouldn’t be surprised if it snaps in two one of these days. It is not a well made handle. The brush part feels more like a brush for a human. I find myself bumping their gums a lot easier with this brush. It doesn’t seem to fit well for a dog’s mouth. It’s also not nearly as big as their old brush. I use the big side. I can’t speak for the smaller side but I feel it’s probably very much the same. I’m going to continue to use these brushes since I paid for them. But when I’m through with them all (I doubt they will last long), I’m going back to Nylabone. It’s worth the higher price to have a higher quality brush that is both easy to use and better for my dog’s gums and teeth. ... show more

Having two dogs of different sizes (120lb difference), these brushes are excellent and have been holding up quite nicely. I brush both my dogs' teeth once a week and the bristles are still in tact, not bent or missing. Wear and tear is expected of course but after 3 solid months of brushing once a wk, the first set is still holding on strong. The sizes of the two brushes are also perfect for my (larger than usual) Jack Russell and my (also larger than usual) Pitbull. ... show more
