My hearing aids don’t trigger the dryer every night. They will if/when they need to dry out. For me, it’s about once a week. Yours will vary. It’s working properly.

    • The modern upgrade from the Global II Dry and Store
I bought a Global II by Dry & Store 4 years ago because it was the best going. It had some pretty major design flaws (ie: giant gap at the hinges) and finally the fan gave out so I went shopping for different one and landed on this one and OMG where has this been?! It's small and looks modern. As opposed to the Dry and Store which is big enough for the whole city's hearing aids and looks like something my grandmother, who was born literally 100 years ago would have had on her nightstand. It works in 45 minutes versus HOURS. It doesn't use desiccant. At $5 a pop for desiccant every 2 months, this unit will have paid for itself before the warranty is up, not to mention the environmental impact of "disposable" plastic encased desiccant "briks". Also, it's half the price. So like even if it died in two years and had to pay for another one outside of warranty, I still wouldn't be paying as much as the old one. So too good to be true, right? I admit I was a little incredulous that it would be effective when I first got it because by all appearances, a machine needs to be a big clunky MACHINE to work. So before I entrusted my hearing aids to it, I dripped a couple of drops of water (safely and please don't void my warranty) into the center of it, ran it and sure enough, the water was gone when it was done. My hearing aids come out feeling crisp and dry and not hot. I use RIC hearing aids and this fit them without issue. This feels like stepping into the 21st century. It's so simple... This little unit is GREAT! I do like everything about it and am happy to say it’s much better than most electronic “stuff” out there. This is my first dehumidifier for my first HAs and it’s a nice, reasonably sized box. I would say that, for the quality, the price is reasonable, and it comes with a 3 year warranty. I don’t know if these work or not, but the last dryer I had, I didn’t know if it worked or not either. I will say this, the unit is very well-made, it was packaged nicely, it’s very easy to use, and it’s really fast. I think I made a wise choice.

    • A hearing aid 'must'.
These are new, so a update on longevity will follow later. Recommended by my audiologist, it's a fast (45 min.) way to dry my hearing aids after use. It uses uv light and heat to both destroy bacteria and gently dry the hearing aids, rechargeable batteries and all. The unit is smaller than expected, and fits on a small shelf nicely without standing out. After a full cycle, the heat portion of the cycle is gentle enough to dry the aids without cooking the delicate components. Hopefully, the UV light will help reduce ear canal infection. This unit will help extend the life of my hearing aids at a reasonable price. ... show more
