I ordered this cover for my Pelican Monaco pedal boat and it’s terrific. The band fits snuggly under the rim of the boat and stays on great. It is made of very thick and durable material that should last a long time. I highly recommend for a 90”x62-1/2” boat.

This Pelican boat cover seems like mostly a real nice cover for covering a Pelican pedal boat while docked or stored - although with a handful of concerns. We are in southern California, so the sun is usually intense, beats up almost any material. It will be interesting to see how long this cover lasts in our climate. They say in some places that this cover is vinyl, other places they say it’s polyester. I’m pretty sure those are different, it would be nice if they got their story straight, that would shed some light on the expected performance and longevity of this cover. Some places they call this cover grey, other places black. I guess I’d call it dark grey, nearly black. Whatever you call it, it seems to me to be a poor choice of color by Pelican, too dark, it means the cover will turn all the incoming sunshine into still more heat, which will make the cover uncomfortably hot to touch and handle, make the boat unnecessarily hotter - and shorten the life of the cover. Better the cover should be a lighter color - although not white, to hide the dirt. Regarding sizing and fit, the product listing says, “This mooring cover fits on the Pelican 8 ft. boat models. Could fit other models, make sure to take measurements of your boat before buying.” But this is all silly. Firstly, this cover is mainly targeted at Pelican’s Monaco and Rainbow boat models, and they are not 8-foot boats, they are both (per Pelican specs.) 7’6” (90”) boats. And the given dimensions of this cover are 94” long, 2” under 8’ long, no way it’s gonna’ cover and wrap around an 8’ boat. They exhort “make sure to take measurements of your boat before buying” - but there is little point in that, since they nowhere give any good info. on what size boat this cover fits. The correct fitting advice, I think, is that this cover mainly fits Pelican’s 7-1/2 foot boats. Hopefully that works out well too for my pedal boat, an old Pelican Riviera pedal boat, which they specify at just one inch longer, 7’7”, or 91”. Pelican has a bit of a bad reputation for shipping out their products - especially their boats, but even their boat covers - with inadequate packaging and protection, so they relatively often arrive damaged, and then usually effectively unrepairable. Fortunately this boat cover was delivered to me by Amazon, so all the outside packaging and delivery issues are thereby neatly handled, it arrived in fine condition. Considering the uncertain material, poorly chosen color, and bad screwy info. about fit and sizing, I’m being generous in rating this Pelican boat cover 4 stars. ... show more
